From June 8 to 11, 2021, the research group of China Cotton Textile Industry Association visited Fancheng District, Xiangyang City, Hubei Province, Makou Town, Hanchuan City, and key cotton textile enterprises in Wuhan to investigate and understand the industry operation, cluster development and green manufacturing.

In the past month, the price of cotton has been fluctuating, and the price of pure cotton ring spinning has been running at a high level. Taking 32 British count cotton ring spinning as an example, the quotation is about 25000 / T; The cotton inventory of the enterprise keeps about 2 months; The price of 1.4d polyester staple fiber is weak, and enterprises can use it as soon as they buy it.

From the production situation, spinning enterprises are full load production, the order quantity is maintained at about two months, the market transaction is relatively active, the delivery speed is fast, and the yarn inventory cycle is about half a month. The price transmission of grey fabric is slow, the profit space is limited, and the start-up rate is maintained at 90%. Some export orders are affected by the exchange rate to a certain extent. The return of overseas orders from India and other countries has led to a sharp rise in the price of port containers and the difficulty in obtaining one container, making the export cost of enterprises rise.

The average age of employees in the survey area is over 45 years old, and the average wage of employees in three shifts and two shifts is about 5000 yuan / month, which is increasing continuously compared with that in 2020. The aging problem of employees is more prominent, and it is difficult to recruit workers, which has become one of the main problems restricting the development of enterprises. Some enterprises are speeding up the progress of technological transformation and replacing people with machines to reduce employment.

Fancheng District of Xiangyang City and Makou town of Hanchuan City are the cluster areas of cotton textile industry. They are named "famous weaving city of China" and "famous town of Chinese thread making" respectively. The development of their textile industry has been highly valued and strongly supported by the local government. According to the survey, in recent years, the two industrial cluster regions have continuously standardized park management, actively built service platforms, issued relevant supporting policies in promoting enterprise transformation and upgrading, technological transformation, green manufacturing, etc., and given certain financial support to enterprises, and achieved certain success. Visited regions and enterprises actively practice the concept of green development and made great efforts in sustainable development.
