In 1984, Zhou Yaoting, the director of the factory, made rapid development of Hong Kong's knitting mills through a series of drastic reforms. At that time, the factory had completely transformed into underwear, but at that time, the underwear in China had just developed from solid color to pattern color. In order to develop new products, Zhou Yaoting took Gao Xiuzhen to Changjing to study on his bicycle. It was under such conditions that the dirt roads were pitted and the bicycles were bumpy and difficult to travel. It was under such conditions that they learned from each other and developed new products. Gao Xiuzhen also led technical personnel to do research and experiments. Later, it was decided to dye the yarn on the bobbin unevenly, and the woven cloth became colored dot cloth, which looked like snowflake. The underwear with this kind of cloth was also called snowflake underwear. The underwear was put into the market, which was in short supply and laid a solid foundation for the continuous prosperity of the factory.

Gao Xiuzhen attaches great importance to the rate of genuine products and cut-off rate of the factory. She believes that as the director of the factory, he must make a fine production plan and strictly implement the plan, otherwise the profit will be wasted. In the mid-1980s, red beans had just opened up foreign trade business, but the factory could not get quotas at all. Over the years, the factory managed by Gao Xiuzhen has a qualified rate of over 99% and a cutting rate of over 98%. It is precisely because of her devotion to her work and her conscientious and responsible work that Gao Xiuzhen has established a high prestige in the factory.

When it was found that the clothing was almost finished, and the delivery date was still a few days. For several days, Gao Xiuzhen and the workers worked late into the night, and the same was true for the first day of the lunar new year. Finally, the goods were delivered on time. Gao Xiuzhen's business trip, food and accommodation are the same as ordinary employees. In the 1980s, when the factory hired Shanghai's Sunday engineers to do technical guidance on Sunday, they had to rush back to Shanghai before going to work the next day. Gao Xiuzhen often got up in the middle of the night to see them off.
