Malian Transitional President Goita: Promoting Cotton Production And Becoming The Largest Cotton Producer In Africa

According to the sikafinance website of Cote d'Ivoire, on April 12, Malian transitional President goita announced at the 12th session of the agricultural high committee that the cotton production in 2022 / 23 (the purchase price was set at 285 CFA (about US $0.47) / kg.
Compared with the 2021 / 2022 production season, this price is increased by 5 West illegal francs (about 0.82 US cents), and 85 West African francs (about 14 cents) compared with the production season 2020 / 2021.
At the same time, the Malian government said that it would take all measures to promote the development of the cotton and grain industries, including providing subsidies to the means of production.
It is reported that in the just concluded 2021 / 22 production season, Mali's cotton production reached 760000 tons, a record high, and became Africa's largest cotton producing country again.
