President Cao Jiachang: Textile Chamber Of Commerce Firmly Opposes The US Xinjiang Related Bill

On June 21, US Eastern time, the US Customs and Border Protection Bureau (CBP), according to the so-called Xinjiang related act of the United States Council, presumed all products produced in Xinjiang as so-called "forced labor" products, and prohibited the import of any products related to Xinjiang. Recently, the European Union has also issued a series of documents concerning "forced labor".

In order to help the main export enterprises understand the specific impact of the relevant laws and deal with trade risks in a timely and effective manner, China Textile Import and Export Chamber of Commerce held an online notification meeting on Xinjiang related bill on June 27. The meeting was presided over by Zhang Xi'an, vice president of textile chamber of Commerce. Chairman Cao Jiachang and Deputy Secretary General Xiao Ling attended the meeting. More than 170 enterprise representatives attended the meeting.

Chairman Cao Jiachang said that the chamber of Commerce firmly opposes any restrictions imposed by the United States on the textile and clothing supply chain and Xinjiang products in Xinjiang, and firmly supports the Chinese government to take necessary measures against the unreasonable acts of the United States. The textile chamber of Commerce will pay close attention to the trend of Sino US textile and garment trade, collect and understand the relevant situation, timely advise the government and inform the enterprises of the situation, so as to guide enterprises to avoid risks and properly deal with them.

Vice president Zhang Xi'an introduced the recent situation of China's textile and garment foreign trade, focused on the Sino US trade situation and the trend of international supply chain, and said that in the next step, the textile chamber of Commerce will focus on following up the specific problems of enterprises' exports to the United States and Europe, so as to solve the problems of enterprises and safeguard the interests of the industry.

At the meeting, relevant experts of Jin chengtongda law firm respectively interpreted the contents of the "Xinjiang related act" of the United States and the relevant legislation of the European Union, analyzed the impact of the relevant legislation of the United States and Europe from the legal and import and export trade practice level, put forward specific suggestions for the coping strategies of export enterprises, and gave interactive answers to the problems concerned by enterprises.
