National Textile Industry Sewing Workers (Protective Clothing) Vocational Skills Competition Liaoning Preliminaries Successfully Held

On December 16-18, the first professional skills competition for sewing workers (protective clothing production) in Liaoning Province was held in Dandong, Liaoning Province, which is also a preliminary contest for the national professional skills competition for sewing workers (protective clothing) in the textile industry. Li Lingshen, Vice President of China Textile Industry Federation, Wang Chong, President of Liaoning Textile and Garment Association, and relevant local leaders, enterprise representatives, referees, players and competition staff participated in and ensured the tight, orderly and effective progress of the competition.

Li Lingshen said in his speech that each protective clothing was made by the technical workers at the production line. The skill level of workers not only determines the labor productivity, but also determines the performance indicators of protective clothing, and ultimately determines whether the wearers can be effectively protected during the epidemic. On the stage of this competition, the contestants have woven pieces of protective clothing with their skills and efforts, and more importantly, they have drawn a blueprint for the new era of our industry's skills becoming talents and skills serving the country.

In 2017, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council issued the Reform Plan for the Construction of Industrial Workers in the New Era, which clearly requires: "to build a skill formation system for industrial workers, and to create a grand industrial workers team with ideals and beliefs, who understand technology and can innovate, and who are brave to take responsibility and dedication". This year marks the fifth anniversary of the implementation of the reform of building the industrial workforce. In the 2022 "National May Day Labor Award" series of awards, industrial workers account for more than 40%, and manufacturing industry is the most recognized industry category. One outstanding player selected by the China Textile Federation through the 2021 national textile industry sewing workers (filter bags) vocational skills competition won the National May Day Labor Medal.

China is a strong textile country in the world. It not only has a complete industrial chain, but also has a high-quality talent team. This is our competitive advantage, and also the direction we need to continue to consolidate and move forward. Only by continuously improving the quality of labor force, the level of professional skills of employees, and the efficiency and quality of labor production of all employees, can the international competitiveness of the industry be consolidated and enhanced.

During the period, Li Lingshen and his delegation also investigated Dandong Haihegu Industrial Co., Ltd., Youxian Technology (Dandong) Co., Ltd., New Oriental Zhiyi (Dandong) Technology Co., Ltd., Liaoning Shifa Clean Technology Co., Ltd. and other enterprises, and communicated with relevant leaders of China's famous protective textile city cluster.
