On June 15, the Chinese Silk Museum in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, received two wedding bridal costumes donated by the Japanese Clothing Culture Research Association. It is reported that these two sets of clothes will be unveiled at the "Colorful Asia: Asian Clothing Exhibition" in September this year, so that more people can understand the Asian clothing culture.

The China Silk Museum is a national silk museum that displays the history and culture of five thousand years of Chinese silk. It also collects and displays silk, textiles and clothing from all over the world.

China and Japan have a long history of exchanges, and Japanese culture is also deeply influenced by China. For example, traditional kimonos, whether sewing, silk making, knitting technology or patterns, almost all originate in China or spread to Japan through China.

The two kimonos donated this time are bridal costumes. This is also the third time that the Japanese Clothing Culture Research Association has donated kimonos to China.

As a donor, Wisdom Watanabe, honorary president of the Japan Fashion Culture Research Association, said that he hoped to express his respect and gratitude for the spread of Chinese culture to Japan through donation.

Zhao Feng, honorary curator of the China Silk Museum, said that the two sets of clothing will be displayed at the "Colorful Asia: Asian Clothing Exhibition" held by the museum in September this year.

It is reported that "Colorful Asia: Asian Clothing Exhibition" is the first theme exhibition focusing on Asian clothing held by the China Silk Museum. It will be held during the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou in 2022, and will display boutique clothing from more than 20 countries and regions in Asia.
