Maliweb, Mali: New Minister Of Agriculture Inspects Major Cotton Producing Areas
On August 5, 2023, Maliweb reported that the new Malian Minister of Agriculture, Rasin Danbere, had led a delegation to investigate the cotton production areas of Mali Textile Development Company (CMDT) in Buguni, Sigasu, Cutiyala and Fana since August 3, 2023, to understand the local cotton planting, production material supply, pest management, etc. in the 2023/24 production season. From the initial station survey, a cotton farmer in Buguni region reported that although there was less rain in the early 2023/24 production season, cotton is growing well due to timely access to fertilizers, pesticides and other materials.
