On the afternoon of November 27, a delegation from the textile and garment industry of Hong Kong visited the China Textile Industry Federation. The two sides held discussions and exchanges on the operation of the textile industry, the development of brand work, foreign investment in the industry, the transformation and development of digital and intelligent new industrialization, and the construction of social responsibility.

Sun Ruizhe, President of China Textile Industry Federation, first welcomed the Hong Kong delegation and introduced the background and current basic structure of China Textile Industry Federation to the delegation.

Sun Ruizhe introduced nine highlights of the work carried out by the China Textile Association: first, industrial cluster work. In 2002, the textile industry took the lead in proposing industrial cluster services as an important part of its work in the industrial field. China Textile Federation has helped to upgrade industrial clusters in the form of joint construction. At present, there are 212 pilot clusters; Second, information work, the textile industry is the first in the industrial field to promote industry information work; The third is to promote corporate social responsibility (CSR) work and set up a special office. In 2005, China Textile Federation issued the first industrial social code - China Textile Enterprise Social Responsibility Management System CSC9000T, which created a precedent in China's industrial field; Fourth, carry out industrial science and technology strategic guidance. As early as 2004, the China Textile Federation held a conference on textile science and technology, and announced the long-term "outline of scientific and technological progress" of the textile industry; Fifth, lead the national textile industry to explore the global market in an integrated way, and establish the market voice and fashion voice of Chinese products; Sixth, carry out research and release on fashion trends of the whole industry chain, starting from fashion colors, to yarns, fabrics and clothing, spanning the entire industry chain; Seventh, take the lead in brand building in the industrial field, such as the brand value evaluation system, creating a "trinity" brand cultivation model, covering regional brands, consumer brands and manufacturing brands; Eighth, to take the lead in promoting climate innovation in the fashion industry under the framework of the UN Climate Convention in response to climate change; Ninth, carry out work related to textile intangible cultural heritage and industrial design.

Sun Ruizhe also said that this year, China Textile Federation issued the Action Plan for Building a Modern Textile Industry System (2022-2035), which covers the important aspects, important contents and important paths of the next step of industrial modernization system construction, and has planned seven important actions. He said that China Textile Federation has been providing oriented information services for industries and enterprises, and also providing corresponding policy recommendations to relevant government departments around the development of the industry.

At the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, it was proposed to "build a modern industrial system" and "promote new industrialization". At present, China Textile Federation is carrying out related work around new industrialization. Sun Ruizhe believes that the new industrialization is based on global financing, and the cooperation of global value chain is still the main form. Therefore, new industrialization has the following characteristics: First, diversified and regional trade layout has become an important form of new industrialization; Second, social responsibility oriented; Third, take digital economy as the value; Fourth, take scientific and technological innovation as the core.

Sun Ruizhe also pointed out that the modernization system of the textile industry should be considered from the perspective of science and technology, fashion, and green, especially its integrity, advancement, and safety. Next, China Textile Federation will lead the direction of industry innovation, first of all, grasp the trend of high-end innovation; The second is to grasp the trend of development and innovation; The third is to grasp the trend of intelligence; The fourth is to grasp the trend of green innovation.

Henry Chen, president of the Hong Kong Textile Industry Federation, said at the meeting that Hong Kong has a good foundation for textile and clothing manufacturing. In the 1970s, Hong Kong was the world's largest apparel export city for more than ten consecutive years.

At present, Hong Kong is still the largest procurement center in the world. Although production is not in Hong Kong, many industrial chain management centers are still in Hong Kong. Hong Kong has always had considerable comparative advantages in basic scientific research, providing strong support for the development of the industry. But there are also weak areas. For example, in the field of marketization, many scientific research achievements have not been well translated.

Henry Chen said that in April this year, they visited the China Garment Science and Technology Innovation Institute in Hangzhou and saw how to produce, design and sell intelligently. For this reason, he hoped that enterprises in Hong Kong and the mainland could link, exchange and use these scientific research achievements in the future.

Hong Kong has always been a window for China's foreign countries, and has many resource advantages in terms of introduction; There are many excellent enterprises and complete industrial chains in the mainland. The products of enterprises that can stand out from them must be excellent. As for how to bring their products to the world, Henry Chen believes that Hong Kong's portal function can help these brands go global better. At the same time, the mainland is second to none in the world in e-commerce, informatization and other fields, which are complementary fields between Hong Kong and the mainland and have many cooperation opportunities.

He also pointed out that there are many good policies in the Greater Bay Area, and hoped that both sides could have more in-depth and diversified cooperation in the field of textile and clothing to jointly help the industrial development.
