Zhang Yin, An Expert On Turning Waste Into Treasure
When she was 27 years old, she spent 30 thousand yuan in Hongkong. Later she went to the United States and went through two business ventures.
In just more than 10 years, the United States Zhongnan company, which belongs to the United States, ranks top in the US's export volume in the same industry every year, ranking the fifty-fourth among the top five hundred women's enterprises in the United States this year.
Zhang Yin, who was born in Guangdong, Heilongjiang, was born in Guangdong, and her parents were "army cadres down the South".
During the cultural revolution, his father was sentenced to prison for persecution.
Zhang Yin, the eldest brother of eight brothers and sisters, not only helps his mother to do housework, but also takes care of her younger brother and sister.
When she was in middle school, although she was burdened with the family burden, she had to walk more than 10 Li mountain road to school every day. However, she had never missed her studies.
In 1982, father reacted, Zhang Yin finally had the opportunity to study her favorite accounting profession, laying a good foundation for her future success.
Later, she served as finance minister and Trade Minister of a joint venture under Shenzhen trust. She was sincere and frank, and established good relations with Hongkong financial circles.
In 1985, Zhang Yin, 27, gave up domestic wages and housing and brought only 30 thousand yuan to Hongkong.
30 thousand yuan was not worth mentioning at that time in Hongkong. A Hong Kong businessman who wanted to hire her gave her an annual salary of HK $500 thousand.
But Zhang Yin was intent on developing her own business. She started her own business with her partners in partnership with Hongkong's financial industry.
"At the beginning of entrepreneurship, it was really tough."
In the face of the interview, Zhang Yin only had a slight understatement.
So far, she has always been remembered as the "master" who led her into this industry, the director of a paper mill in the mainland.
"At first, I would not like to do this job, but" Shifu "said that waste paper is a forest. In the future, the paper industry must develop from resource paper to recycled paper.
Shifu also said that the pulp imported from Hongkong was mixed with water and of low quality, so I hope I can change this phenomenon.
In this way, I entered the line and succeeded.
Now Shifu is eighty years old, and I often visit him. "Shifu"'s children also work in my company.
Since Zhang Yin entered Hongkong, he insisted on quality first and changed the way of mixing water into pulp.
The result is against the interests of peers, and is considered to be a violation of the "code of conduct" and therefore receives a threatening phone call from the underworld.
Even the partners deceived her and secretly poured water into it, but she did not shrink back or fear.
Finally, because of her openness and fairness, those who collect waste paper are willing to do business with her, willing to sell her waste paper to her.
She often visits them and helps them in their power.
Although Zhang Yin did not speak Cantonese very well, they were willing to tell her the truth.
"Later, when I was going to the United States, they were unhappy."
Speaking of which, Zhang Yin smiled.
The secret of success lies in the following: in the short span of a few years, Zhang Yin's business has been developing rapidly in Hongkong, and has established its own paper and packaging plant.
However, Hongkong is a small island. Its waste paper resources, waste paper quality and waste paper quantity can not make Zhang Yin realize the dream of "waste paper king".
So in February 1990, Zhang Yin came to the United States, one of the most developed countries in the world of paper making, and began a new venture.
If Zhang Yin's business in Hongkong is successful by diligence and courage, then he will rely more on intelligence and accumulated professional knowledge over the years.
In the past ten years, the United States Zhongnan Co., established by Zhang Yin, has built seven packaging plants and pport enterprises in the United States.
In 1996, the Central South company ranked fourth in the list of container exports in various sectors of the United States, and has been on the top step since then.
In 1997, the US ranked the top five hundred in women's enterprises, while the Central South company ranked 95, while Zhang Yin was the only Chinese woman.
In this year's ranking, Zhang Yin has jumped to 54 place and has become a real "waste paper recycling king".
However, when Zhang Yin talked about success, he simply said, "I am lucky. I take advantage of the time and place."
She said that when he started his own business, it coincided with the golden age of China's reform and opening up. When it came to the United States, it coincided with the sustained prosperity of the US economic recovery. In addition, the United States was rich in forest resources, the paper industry was developed, and the waste paper recycling system was very scientific. At this time, after the development in Hongkong, the company had strong funds and a high starting point, relying on the honest and trustworthy business style, and the speed was amazing.
When Zhang Yin talked about the secret of success, he said that his greatest characteristic was to do his own business and do everything in his power. If only three star hotels could be built, he would never bet on five stars.
In addition, because of having studied finance and accounting profession, he has unique views in management.
Advocating the humanized management of "individual family, company family".
It not only provides sufficient space for the subordinates to make full use of their talents, but also helps to solve practical difficulties in terms of treatment.
Most importantly, her success is inextricably linked to the full support of her husband and other vice presidents.
Husband Liu Mingzhong was born in Taiwan, grew up in Brazil, graduated from a prestigious university, proficient in English, Portuguese, steady and meticulous work, Zhang Yin laughs, "we are husband and wife complementary."
There is no difference between a woman and a man. Zhang Yin speaks with a crisp voice and looks younger than his real age.
To win today's success, Zhang Yin believes that gender has nothing to do with itself.
Although working women are slightly worse in physical strength, they are no different from men in other ways.
With wisdom, initiative and good character, success is possible.
In my life and work, I get more care because I am a woman.
Zhang Yin thinks he is different from ordinary women. She is generous and generous, especially in money and things.
"Maybe because I am confident that I can make money and make money, so money is not so important to me."
Nowadays, in China, there are always some media who discuss the successful career women how to be a good wife and converge themselves to balance their husbands' psychology. So what does Zhang Yin's husband, vice president Liu Mingzhong think?
Zhang Yin said that her husband grew up in the West and did not have that kind of idea.
And her husband is studying medicine, and his expertise is different, the company's two people are just different division of labor, everyone do their duties, without the full support of their husbands, they will not succeed today.
"My career in China", "I live in the United States, but my career is in China."
This is Zhang Yin's reply to reporters in an interview with the third major news media of the United States.
Ten years ago, Zhang Yin wanted to be the king of waste paper recycling in the United States, and this desire was quickly realized.
Ten years later, she had a new dream: to achieve an annual output of 1 million tons of wrapping paper in China and become China's cattle cardboard king.
In order to make up for the shortage of papermaking raw materials, Zhang Yin and her husband focused on the supply of China's waste paper market, and soon opened up the market, eventually occupying over seventy percent of China's recycled paper raw materials market.
In 1987, Zhang Yin began to choose investment partners in China. Her first station was northeast of her ancestral home.
Zhang Yin and Liaoning Yingkou paper mill joint venture, and soon achieved success.
Subsequently, she joined the Wuhan Dongfeng paper mill and Hebei Tangshan paper mill to further expand the investment scale.
1988 is another milestone in Zhang Yin's career. This year, she set up his sole proprietorship in Dongguan, Guangdong, Dongguan Zhongnan Paper Co., Ltd., which mainly produces household paper and its products all over the country. Among them, "BB treasure" children's diapers have won the first place in the similar product evaluation of 97 years.
In 1996, China's high-end packaging paper was in short supply, especially the high-grade cattle card paper, almost all imported from abroad.
Zhang Yin seized this historic opportunity in time and decided to set up Dongguan Nine Dragons Paper Co., Ltd., mainly producing high-grade cattle cardboard.
She invested $110 million and started the first phase of the project in December 1996.
In July 1999, Zhang Yin continued to inject 110 million US dollars to expand the two phase of the project. At the same time, he continued to invest US $more than 100 million in this year to expand the three phase of the project. At that time, the production scale of Dongguan paper industry will exceed 1 million tons, making it one of the world's largest number of packaging paper production members.
Zhang Yin said that China's economic order is getting better and better, and its investment environment is becoming more and more stable. In the future, she will continue to expand the scale of investment. "The sum of money earned in China will not be taken away, and it should be used to expand reproduction."
In addition, there is another important reason for realizing her dream of industrial reporting.
Zhang Yin believes that twenty-first Century is the century of Chinese people, China is strong, and overseas Chinese have a sense of pride.
The purpose of expanding the production scale of Nine Dragons is to reduce China's dependence on foreign cattle paper, create taxes for the country and increase employment opportunities.
At present, the products of the factory have basically taken the place of foreign imports. Among them, more famous brands such as Coca-Cola, Nike, SONY, Haier, TCL and so on are all using their products.
Per ton of products can save us $300 in foreign exchange. In 1999 alone, we saved nearly $60 million for our country.
From the "waste paper king" to the "paper king", Zhang Yin is keen on China's public welfare undertakings. It not only participates in and supports the friendly activities carried out by our embassies, consulates and local overseas Chinese communities, but also pays much attention to donations and donations to the people in the disaster areas and poverty-stricken areas.
In 1998, when the floods occurred in China, she donated hundreds of thousands of yuan to the country, and donated 20 thousand dollars through embassies abroad. In 1999, when the Chinese women's football team visited the United States, she donated 8 thousand dollars.
Zhang Yin said that the Mid Autumn Festival's participation in the National Day ceremony was received by the leaders of the state. This is not only their glory, but also the affirmation of their efforts to return the motherland.
"I am a Chinese and my roots are in China. I will pour all my efforts on this fast growing land in China in my lifetime, from today's" waste paper king "in the United States to tomorrow's" paper king "in China.
Zhang Yin: 12 days in February 1957, born in Jixi, Heilongjiang Province, she is a Chinese citizen (with Hongkong SAR passport).
As the president of the United States Central South Limited company, honorary president of the US China Business Association.
