    Run Run Shaw'S History Of Legendary Entrepreneurship

    Run Run Shaw (October 4, 1907 - formerly known as Shao Renleng), chairman of Television Broad-casts Limited in Hongkong, one of the founders of Shaw Brothers, a famous film maker in Hongkong.

    Run Run Shaw, a native of Ningbo, was born in Shanghai in 1907. Her father is the owner of Shanghai Jintai Chang pigment company.

    He ranked sixth in his brothers and sisters, so he later called "six uncle".

    Shao Shoujiao graduated from high school in the United States at the age of 19 and went to Singapore to develop the movie market with his brother Shao Renmei.

    He and his elder brother were active in China's film industry in 1920s.

    In 1925, Shao brothers set up "Tianyi film company" in Shanghai, and worked with Xue Juexian, a Cantonese opera singer, to take the first Chinese sound film Bai Jinlong (Cantonese).

    In 1928, Run Run Shaw went to star horse and other places to help his brother develop film distribution companies.

    In 1958, Shao Renmei was founded as "Shao brothers (Hongkong) Limited", making films in Hongkong, and Run Run Shaw as president.

    In 1961, the Shao's film city in Clear Water Bay, Kowloon, was officially launched in December 6th.

    In the 1970 era, Shao brothers set foot in the rapidly developing television industry and worked with radio television to train artists.

    In 1980, Run Run Shaw became the largest shareholder of TVB and served as chairman of the board.

    During the same period, Shaw's film business continued to shrink and the movie was reduced, and all the theaters were sold in 1985. In May 1987, Shao announced that it would stop producing films.

    Shao Shao has produced more than one thousand films since its commissioning to suspend production.

    In 2000, Malaysia's "Tian Ying entertainment" purchased HK $400 million for 760 permanent copyright of Shaw films and spent HK $200 million for digital restoration.

    Over the years, Run Run Shaw has contributed more than one billion contributions to education and medical facilities in the mainland and Hongkong.

    The construction of many tertiary institutions in Hongkong has been donated by Run Run Shaw, such as Yi Fu College of Chinese University Hong Kong, Run Run Shaw building of University of Hong Kong, Run Run Shaw Library of City University Hong Kong.

    In 2005, Run Run Shaw donated HK $10 million to the tsunami hit areas in South Asia.

    In 1974, he was awarded the CBE medal by the queen to commend his achievements in the entertainment business.

    In 1977, the queen was named KNIGHT BACHELOR, giving the title of knight.

    In 1990, the Chinese government named the planet 2899, which was discovered in China, as "Run Run Shaw star".

    In 1991, the city of San Francisco named "Run Run Shaw day" every September 8th, in recognition of its contribution to public welfare.

    In 1998, the GBM award was awarded by the SAR government.

    In 2002, Run Run Shaw founded the "Run Run Shaw prize" and the first was held in 2004.

    The award imitates the Nobel prize. Every year, scientists who have achieved 3 achievements in mathematics, medicine and astronomy are awarded annually. They are awarded one million dollars for their recognition.

    The winner of the first mathematics prize is Chen Shengshen; the astronomy prize is P. James E. Peebles; the life sciences and medicine prize is Stanley N. Cohen, Herbert W. Boyer, Jane Yue Wei and Richard Doll.

    The Hongkong film city, located in Tseung Kwan O Industrial Village, is investing in HK $1 billion 100 million, which is expected to open in mid 2005.

    Cinemas facilities include post production centers, administration buildings, photography studios, cinemas and exhibition halls.

    Shao said that after the completion of the film city, he would sign a contract with an actor and invest about HK $200 million to make about 15 new plays.

    Run Run Shaw's wife was married to miss Huang Meizhen in 1937 and had two sons and two daughters.

    Huang died in the United States in 1987 at the age of 85.

    In 1997, Run Run Shaw remarried with Miss Fang Yihua in the Las Vegas certificate book of the United States.
