Guangxi'S "East Mulberry Shift" Project To Retain Migrant Workers

Our region has been ranking the largest province of Cocoon Output for 3 years in a row. In 2007, the total area of mulberry fields in the whole area reached 13.34 hectares, accounting for 17% of the whole country, an increase of 11.9% over the same period last year. The output of fresh cocoons was 205 thousand and 200 tons, an increase of 10.49% over the same period last year, and the output value was about 40 billion yuan.

In the development of mulberry industry, our region pays attention to strengthening science and technology training.

In the "East Mulberry shift" project, a group of advanced subtropical mulberry and silkworm varieties with international advanced level were mainly pushed out of "Gui sang you 12", "Gui sang you 62" and "Gui silkworm No. 1" and "Gui silkworm two".

By the end of 2007, 70% of the farmers who had developed mulberry sericulture in the whole country had mastered the standardized production techniques of silkworm breeding, silkworm disease prevention, silkworm disease saving, silkworm rearing, cocoon harvesting and baking.

At the same time, new processing enterprises will be arranged to arrange farmers' employment in the near future.

As the output and quality of cocoons in our region have greatly improved, a large number of businessmen from Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Sichuan, Chongqing and Guangdong have invested in New Silk processing enterprises in key silkworm areas of our region, reaching 66 in 2007, achieving an industrial output value of 3 billion 500 million yuan, and arranging more than 10 thousand rural migrant workers.

The project "East sang West shift" not only brings material wealth to the farmers engaged in the industry, but also brings joy to these families.

A farmer in ancient town of Binyang County told reporters that in the past, his wife and two went out to work, leaving the elderly and children at home.

Since their husband and wife went back to the countryside to cultivate silkworms and develop the courtyard economy, they have ensured family income and increased family affection and warmth.

He feels that family members enjoy the happiness of family life like bathing and harmonious spring breeze.
