The Import Situation Of French Textile And Clothing Was Worrying In 2007.

According to the latest statistics of the law customs and law Fashion Institute, the import amount of textile and clothing in 2007 was 20 billion 900 million euros, of which the import of clothing was 14 billion 400 million euros, up 2%, and the textile imports were 6 billion 500 million euros, up 1%.

Among them, imports from EU 27 countries amounted to 4 billion 600 million euros, down 5%, and textile imports 4 billion 200 million euros, down 2%.

Imports from outside the European Union amounted to 9 billion 800 million euros, an increase of 6%, and textile imports amounted to 2 billion 300 million euros, an increase of 7%.

French imports from Asian clothing amounted to 6 billion 500 million euros, an increase of 8%.

The newspaper said that before the cancellation of the spin off, China was the largest importer of clothing in France. Although the growth rate of China's export garments slowed down before the end of 2007, the total import from China increased by 21% (25% in the three quarter 07 years ago), accounting for 30% of the supply market.

This is obviously unfavourable to other suppliers in Asia, but it does not affect producers in Mediterranean countries.

The clothing imports from India, Thailand, Indonesia and Hongkong ranked sixth, fifteenth and 20 respectively, and their imports declined by 3%, 1%, 21% and 30% respectively.

France's imports from Mediterranean countries amounted to 2 billion 800 million euros, an increase of 4%.

Tunisia, Morocco and Turkey maintained third, fourth and 5 of the export of French clothing, with a growth rate of 1%, 2% and 9% respectively.

Romania and Bulgaria ranked tenth and nineteenth in France's clothing exports, and dropped by 18% and 33% respectively after joining the alliance.

The report said that if the 27 countries of the European Union slowed down exports to France, 6% of the Mediterranean countries would grow by 4%.

France imported 500 million euros from other countries and regions, down 3%.

It is reported that among the French textile importers, the central and Eastern European countries outside the EU are noteworthy. Although their import value is not large, their volume has increased by 71%.

The 27 European Union is far from the largest supplier of French textiles, and it dropped by 2% in 2007.
