Data Show That Asian Underwear Market Has Grown Rapidly In Recent Five Years.
According to the data released by the famous international lingerie exhibitor, France, the Asian underwear market has been growing rapidly, with an average annual growth rate of 8% over the past five years, of which China's mainland market has increased by 11%.
In the closing ceremony of the second Hongkong international fashion lingerie exhibition, Marie, general manager of Ou Luo Wei Exhibition, said that since 2000, Asia has become an important market for underwear brands in the world. Last year, the underwear market in Asia amounted to $10 billion, accounting for 20% of the global underwear sales.
Marie said that the underwear consumption market in Asia, especially in the mainland of China and India, will be bigger and bigger. It is estimated that by the year 2014, the number of women over 15 years old in the mainland and India will exceed 1 billion. If the clothing consumption of 5% to 10% buys underwear, it will be a considerable number.
The survey shows that the habits of women buying underwear in mainland China are undergoing major changes.
At present, mainland women's underwear accounts for about 8% of their clothing consumption and is expected to increase to 10% in the next year.
