Since the beginning of this month, the Changzhou entry-exit inspection and Quarantine Bureau has conducted a quality inspection of children's clothing exported to the European Union and the United States of the city. The results showed that among the 9 batches of 12 samples sampled, 8 samples were not qualified, and the unqualified rate reached 66.7%, which became an unqualified "heavy disaster area". Among them, a group of products had a PH detection value of 9.1, which was a serious exceeding standard product.

The inspection and quarantine department immediately issued a notice of disqualification to the enterprises concerned, and ordered it to conduct technical treatment under the supervision of the inspection and quarantine institution. After the re examination, it was allowed to export to the rear area. It was not allowed to carry out the technical treatment or re inspection after the technical treatment, and the unqualified export was not allowed, so as to safeguard the international image of Changzhou products.

"From the sampling indicators, the monitoring of banned textiles such as azo dyes and formaldehyde in export textiles is generally taken seriously, but the importance of pH value is obviously not enough."

Shi Hong, director of the textile and light Administration Department of Changzhou entry exit inspection and Quarantine Bureau, told reporters that according to the national basic safety technical specification for textiles, infant products belong to class a products, and the color fastness, formaldehyde, pH value and dyestuff demand are higher than those of "direct contact with skin".

PH value is an index of safety. The pH value of textiles is beneficial to prevent bacteria from intruding between acidic and neutral. Too high pH will destroy the acidic environment of human skin, resulting in damage to the natural barrier of the skin's surface, stimulating skin, causing bacteria, causing diseases, delicate skin and rapid blood circulation. Improper pH values are more likely to cause skin inflammation and damage the sweat gland system and nervous system.

According to the inspection and quarantine personnel, all kinds of agents in textile printing and dyeing process are not adequately washed, and all kinds of finishing agents added in the process of washing are not standardized. If the fabric is not fully washed after printing and dyeing, it will be dried out or not take certain measures to neutralize the fabric.

"In recent years, many countries in the world have issued relevant laws and technical standards to strictly regulate the pH value of textiles."

The relevant persons in charge of the inspection and Quarantine Department reminded the relevant enterprises that they must improve their understanding of technical barriers, and adopt green dyes and advanced finishing processes as far as possible while introducing new technologies, new processes, new methods, new standards, and new regulations. At the same time, they should equip with necessary testing equipment to effectively improve the passing rate of export garments.
