China's first textile industry standard, specially formulated for infants and young children's clothing, has been formally implemented since October 1st. The standard stipulates the clothing for infants and young children (aged 24 months or less). Its introduction will provide an important reference for parents to purchase BB clothing.

Strictly stipulate metal content

For infants and young children's clothing, parents are most concerned about health and safety.

In this regard, the new standard has made a mandatory quantitative provision for its quantitative indicators - the mercury content should not exceed 0.02 mg per kilogram, the chromium content should not exceed 1 mg per kilogram, the lead content should not exceed 0.2 mg per kg, the arsenic content should not exceed 0.2 mg per kg, and the copper content should not exceed 25 mg per kg.

The formaldehyde content of infant clothing most concerned by mothers must be less than or equal to 20 milligrams per kilogram.

To ensure that clothes do not irritation to infants and young children, the pH value of infant clothing is limited to 4.0-7.5.

According to the introduction, all clauses relating to the safety of infant clothing are listed as mandatory by the standard, such as the size of the collar, the unfastener of the zipper, the length and strength of the rope and the residue of heavy metals.

In addition, infant clothing is also forbidden to decompose aromatic amine dyes and can not smell bad, buttons and other non removable attachments must not fall off.

For safety reasons, the standard stipulates that the neckline and hat side of infant clothing shall not be allowed to use rope, and the length of the rope must not exceed 14 centimeters.

There are special requirements for comfort.

Clothes for infants and young adults are much higher than adults' clothes.

In consideration of the problem of comfort, the standard stipulates that infant clothing must be marked "not dry cleaned" on its product label, because dry cleaners may contain substances that stimulate the skin of infants and young children.

There are also requirements for raw materials, such as natural fibers, chemical fibers or animal skins with certain warmth retention properties. For example, zippers and metal accessories, buttons, decorative buttons, zippers and metal accessories should be free from burrs, non piercing edges, sharp edges and other defects.
