In the future, Shaoxing's textile and garment enterprises will need to do pH value testing if they want to export clothing materials.

Yesterday, reporters learned from the relevant departments that in order to improve the safety and hygiene level of export garments in our province, the inspection and quarantine department will add the pH value to the export garment batch to be tested from February 1, 2009, and cancel the relatively safe PCP index test.

It is reported that pH value refers to the residual acid and alkali content in clothing fabrics. The relevant national standards have made clear and strict requirements for the pH value of textile products. According to the relevant regulations of the state, whether the fabric is directly contacted with the skin, its pH value is different, and the clothing fabric directly contacting the skin has a relatively high pH value.

PH will not cause skin itch between weak acid and neutral.

"The measurement of pH value for export fabrics is also based on the results of this year's clothing census survey and data analysis in peacetime. It is found that the detection rate of PCP (pentachlorophenol) in export fabrics is low, and the rejection rate of pH value is high, so it is necessary to measure the pH value."

Shaoxing inspection and Quarantine Bureau official said.

According to the introduction, pH value test object is the export clothing batch (intercept batch) that needs to be tested.

PH test time is divided into three stages, namely preparation period, buffer period and strict execution period.

From now until February 1, 2009, all export garment enterprises should attach great importance to the preparatory work.

Fabric supply enterprises should pay attention to the processing of printing and dyeing processes to prevent pH value exceeding the standard. The buffer period is February 1, 2009 ~2009 April 1st, and the pH value of export clothing fabrics is executed according to the GB18401-2003 ("national textile product basic safety technical specification") C standard (that is, non direct contact skin product pH 4-9); after the strict execution period is April 1, 2009, the pH value will be strictly implemented according to the basic safety technical requirements stipulated by GB18401-2003.

Whether the pH value of fabric is up to the standard is related to whether the fabric can be exported smoothly.

To this end, the industry has warned that textile and garment enterprises must pay enough attention to pH value. Export textile and garment enterprises should pay attention to product quality in the production process, strictly check the acceptance of fabrics, and ensure the quality of export garments to meet the requirements of safety, hygiene and environmental protection.
