Russian Sporting Goods Demand Grows Year By Year
The Russian market research firm surveyed its sporting goods market.
The results show that a large proportion of Russian sporting goods market is in a "shadow" state.
In 2005, the Russian sporting goods market was active, its sales increased by 25%, but the official figures were only $280 million, which is quite different from the actual situation.
According to expert assessment, this figure should be between 10 and 2 billion 500 million dollars.
Although there is still no accurate data, it can be seen that the sporting goods market in Russia is developing rapidly and its turnover is increasing year by year.
The growth of Russian sporting goods demand is partly due to the improvement of the macro-economy. On the other hand, people's life philosophy has changed a lot, and more and more residents are actively participating in the fitness campaign.
According to the data, the number of residents participating in sports in Russia accounts for 10% of the total population (50% in developed countries).
Because of the increase of Russian residents' income in recent years, Russian residents choose the way of sporting goods from the market to the sporting goods store.
Residents living in big cities have already completed this pformation. Other sporting goods distribution networks are also expanding rapidly. Among them, several large sporting goods chain stores have taken up the leading position in the sporting goods market. They have 22% market share, 16% independent stores, and 15% of the major shopping malls selling sportswear and sports shoes.
Experts say that sports goods are not only popular in Russia, but also in other countries. Wearing all kinds of sportswear is a very fashionable thing nowadays.
According to investigation, in recent years, Russian women are also interested in sporting goods.
In the survey of 2021 residents in Moscow and St Petersburg, young girls aged 16 to 19 especially like to buy sportswear and sports shoes, while men prefer to buy fitness equipment such as family treadmills and so on. Young people like to buy winter sports goods and ride bicycles and motorcycles.
Like the Chinese, Russians also prefer high quality sporting goods, such as Adidas, Nike and other international brands.
But such brands are also most likely to be copied.
The researchers said that although the phenomenon of counterfeit brand products in Russia has been reduced, it still accounts for a large proportion of the market.
The Russian sporting goods market has a large proportion of imported goods. Businessmen not only import sportswear and shoes and hats, but also import other sports goods and equipment that Russia can not produce at present.
