Russian Fur Market Is Saturated

According to the Russian RBC market survey network April 24th, Russia occupied the position of the world fur industry leader in the late 80s of last century, not only in product category but also in quality.

At that time, Russian fur production accounted for 35% of the world market.

Today, Russia produces only about 20% of the world's fur products, while the Russian market has 90% products for imports.

The Russian fur industry has 20 large enterprises and 150 small factories, but its operating rate is only 30% - 40%.

The Russian fur market is saturated, largely due to imports, which account for almost 100% of the market.

In fact, it is not just famous foreign brands that can produce fashionable and high-quality fur clothing. Russian domestic manufacturers can also produce finished products, and their quality will never be lost to imported products.

Today, Russia has 25 fur processing plants, but 95% of its products are tanned leather products of different processing levels, which are used to produce shoes, clothing and furniture.

According to Amie & Co. sales and marketing researchers, leather goods accounted for the first place in imported fur and leather products, accounting for about 47%, 21% for fur and 14% for leather.

About 35% of export products are raw materials for fur, and other products include fur clothing, ornaments and processed fur.
