Japan Will Help Pakistan Leather Industry Introduce Green Productivity

MuhammadAtif, the project manager of Pakistan's cleaner production center, said that the member states of the Asian Productivity Organization (Japan) said it would contact the business community of the city of ikkat as soon as possible and negotiate an action plan to introduce green productivity technology to the local leather industry.

The scheme has a low cost tannery waste treatment system and ensures the sustainable development of the leather industry.

Japanese experts will provide complete technical assistance and guidance to the leather manufacturers and exporters of the company. In addition, by using the latest modern technology, the environmental pollution caused by tannery will be reduced to meet the international environmental protection law standards.

MuhammadAtif said that these methods and technologies are crucial to the survival and development of the leather sector. In order to stop industrial pollution and reduce tannery effluent, countries in the world are strictly implementing green productivity technology.

MuhammadAtif said that the leather enterprises of the city have realized the importance of environmental protection to the local production and export development. Only when environmental protection has reached international standards, can the leather industry of the city be developed and its products can be competitive in the world market.
