Yangtze River Delta Textile Industry Intends To Build Innovation Alliance
Affected by the global financial crisis, the textile industry in the Yangtze River Delta is facing greater pressure of survival and development. Industrial restructuring and industrial upgrading are imperative. Reporters learned yesterday that Donghua University, Shanghai science and technology development and exchange center are leading the construction of the "Yangtze River Delta textile industry collaborative innovation alliance" to attract textile industry production, learning and research institutions to join, through strengthening regional cooperation and collaborative innovation, to enhance the overall competitiveness of the Yangtze River Delta textile industry. It is reported that this innovation alliance plan was completed in the year, and has attracted more than 200 small and medium-sized enterprises to participate.
This year, affected by the international environment, the Yangtze River Delta textile enterprises are in a dilemma of survival. Insiders predict that in 2008 and 2009, the Yangtze River Delta will be a "watershed" of the textile industry. After that, enterprises will have great development and vice versa. Relying on scientific and technological strength is an important way to enhance enterprise's ability to resist risks. However, the vast majority of the textile industry in the Yangtze River Delta is small and medium-sized enterprises, with weak scientific research capability. They often rely on skilled personnel to implement some minor technological improvements to promote the development of enterprises.
The Yangtze River Delta textile industry collaborative innovation alliance will set up an innovative service platform for p regional and cross organizational cooperation, so that enterprises can enjoy textile technology innovation resources conveniently and economically. Donghua University, Jiangnan University, Zhejiang Sci-Tech University and other textile professional universities and research institutions, and small and medium-sized enterprises in the region to form an alliance, on this platform to exchange research and supply and demand information. There are technical problems in enterprises, and colleges and universities participate in tackling key problems in time. Colleges and universities will also "sell" scientific research results, find partners in enterprises, help enterprises to cultivate new markets through technological innovation, and dig new economic growth points. Experts said that at present, the textile industry in the Yangtze River Delta contains three kinds of textiles, such as industrial, household and clothing, and each category can enhance the added value of products through scientific and technological innovation.
In recent years, textile majors in Colleges and universities have been "grafting" with new materials, biology, medicine, engineering and other disciplines, and new achievements have emerged in an endless stream, which can be used by enterprises. With the support of technology, textile enterprises can get rid of the low level competition of price fixing and cost allocation, and have greater room for development.
The alliance will also become a distribution center for textile industry market information, and will develop "pilotage" for textile enterprises in the Yangtze River Delta. Professor Gu Qingliang, director of the Institute of textile economics of Donghua University, pointed out that at present, the distribution pattern of textile industry in the Yangtze River Delta has basically taken shape, and different regions have formed clusters of clothing, knitting, wool spinning, home textiles, hosiery, children's clothing and leather goods. However, in some areas, the pursuit of "small and complete" industry has weakened the characteristics of specialization and refinement. Therefore, the alliance will guide the textile industry in various regions to form an industrial cluster with reasonable structure, distinct primary and secondary division and complementary division of labor, so as to reduce homogenization competition.
Experts believe that in addition to providing technological support for the Yangtze River Delta textile industry, Shanghai should also provide better services in the areas of creative design, brand marketing and trade. Some textile small and medium-sized enterprises in the Yangtze River Delta often hold two shots of fashion. When the products come out, the market trend changes and the products become stock. In recent years, some garment enterprises in Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces have tried to move the design, marketing and logistics centers to Shanghai, achieving good results and improving the added value of products.
