At present, the functional clothing sold on the market can be divided into protective and non protective types.

Among them, protective functional clothing is used to prevent injury to human body, such as safety and environmental protection. The specific functions include waterproofing, wind protection, UV protection, moisture absorption, quick drying, antibacterial, flame retardant, antistatic and electromagnetic protection. Non protective functional clothing is used to increase human body function and improve the work efficiency of wearers, such as climate adjustment function and keeping function of body cleanliness. The specific functions include ironing, wrinkle resistant, easy to handle, antifouling, deodorizing, wear-resisting and so on.

In order to adapt to the rapid development of China's functional clothing industry, the national garment Standardization Technical Committee has done a lot of market research work, and it is necessary to build a functional clothing standard system and make amendments to the relevant functional clothing standards.

In view of the more mature functional clothing market, the technical bid committee has gradually intensified the standard revision and regulation, and standardized the functional clothing market in China.

Great progress has been made, and a number of important functional clothing standards have been completed and project declarations have been completed. The product standards include GB/T 21980-2008 "general technical specifications for professional sportswear and protective products", GB/T 24278-2009 "motorcycle driver's protective clothing", GB /T 23316-2009, "requirements for testing the static electricity resistance of clothing and test methods" and so on. The method standards include GB/T 22042-2008 "test methods for surface resistance of clothing antistatic properties", GB/T 22043-2008 "testing methods of clothing's antistatic properties through material resistance (vertical resistance)" and "shielding resistance test method for shielding clothing" (item number: 20080845-T-608). In recent years, China's functional clothing standards have been revised and revised.

Since 2009, the national garment Standardization Technical Committee has been committed to broadening the coverage of functional clothing standards, steadily improving the standard of functional clothing standards, and gradually improving the standard system of functional clothing in China.

Through the combination of product standards and method standards, China's comprehensive functional clothing standard system will be built in an all-round way to continuously enrich our country's functional clothing standards, and provide uniform standards and norms for the new functional clothing industry.
