The first batch of 300 tons of Taiwan rice varieties introduced was "Kaohsiung 145", which was originally produced in Taiwan and Pingtung.

Kaohsiung and Taichung direct flights to Fuzhou Mawei Port, has passed all the inspection procedures.

Chen Xincheng, a Taiwan exhibitor, said that the first landing of Taiwan rice on the mainland of China will bring opportunities and benefits to the mainland's deep food processing enterprises and Taiwan farmers.

At present, the tariff of Taiwan rice imported from the mainland is 1%, and sales are mainly for the middle and high-end market of the mainland.

Zhao Shike, director of the Fuzhou Grain Bureau, who is responsible for the introduction of the rice, told reporters that at present, China only imports rice from 5 countries such as Thailand, Pakistan, Japan, Vietnam, Egypt and so on. The official introduction of Taiwan rice will enrich the grain market of the mainland and will not cause fluctuations in the price of food in the mainland.
