The association Aprisindo announced that domestic shoe manufacturers received additional orders worth $360 million, which came from 6 major international footwear brands.
The six main international footwear brands are the Nike New and the new Balance (Lacoste), the French crocodile (Lacoste), Japan's MIZUNO (Mizuno), and Germany's Adidas group and Puma. Marga Singgih, leader of the footwear industry association (Aprisindo), said that international buyers found that the quality of Indonesian shoes was much better than that of Vietnamese and Chinese made shoes.
The World Cup tournament will be held in South Africa later this month, and the demand for shoes will expand further.
Almost 70% of championship sports shoes are delivered in Indonesia.
