Textile Technology In The German Pavilion Of World Expo
I joined the Pudong New Area science and Technology Association's "Expo in the eyes of engineers" activities, I took "homework" into the hall to see "doorway".
With the theme of "harmonious city", the German Pavilion, starting from daily life, actively reflects the thinking of green environmental protection and promotes the achievement of circular economy.
German uniformed staff wear uniform uniforms, technology content is "full of color". In my "inquisitive", the staff asked the design leader to explain the "doorway": originally, they chose a special polyester fiber fabric, not only durable and recyclable, but also used as textile fiber after processing. The white T-shirt worn by the staff looks different from the ordinary cotton clothing in the summer, but it has the characteristics of rapid degradation. Once exposed to the corresponding bacteria in the soil, it will be completely decomposed. Even clothing dyestuffs and buttons do not cause environmental problems during degradation.
According to reports, after the end of World Expo, these used T-shirts will be buried in the basement of the German Pavilion, which will provide nutrients for subsequent planting.
German friends also told me that in order not to increase the burden on the venue, the materials and production processes of various uniforms in the German Pavilion were completed in Germany, which minimised the emission of carbon dioxide and other harmful substances in the transportation process. Such thoughtful and careful consideration is touching.
In addition, the exterior wall of the German Pavilion is coated with a silvery gray mesh of innovative architectural membrane structure, with a silver metallic material embedded on the surface. This material can not only cover the wind and rain, but also reflect the solar radiation, which is conducive to reducing the rise of the building surface temperature, just like adding second layers of skin to the external wall of the building. At the same time, because the coating material of the network structure has the function of air permeability, it is also conducive to the air circulation in the museum, which can effectively prevent the accumulation of heat caused by the crowded crowd and lighten the burden of the energy consumption of the air conditioning equipment in the exhibition hall.
