Analysis Of The Demand Level Of China'S Textile Industry Informatization Level

    2010/6/17 19:12:00 35

    Textile Industry

Chinese textile enterprises are looking forward to more suitable IT products. The lower level of input determines the low level of informatization of the domestic textile and garment industry. Moreover, domestic IT manufacturers can not fully meet the needs of enterprise informatization.

Textile industry is a traditional pillar industry and livelihood industry of our national economy. It is also an industry with obvious international competitive advantages. It plays an important role in prospering the market, expanding exports, absorbing employment, increasing farmers' income and promoting urbanization.

As one of the first industries to realize marketization and market competition in China, informatization in textile industry started early and applied widely.

However, the characteristics of regional, industry, enterprise differences and unbalanced development determine the diversity of China's textile industry informatization needs, the gradualness of advancing steps and the arduous implementation process.

Not long ago, in an interview with China Electronics News, Wu Di, deputy director of the China Textile Economic Research Center, said: "from the overall analysis, the informatization level of the textile industry is in the middle reaches of China's manufacturing industry."

Low input restricts informatization and develops potential.

At the end of 2008, the research center of garment enterprises of AMT consulting company conducted a survey on the status quo of the informatization of more than 500 domestic garment enterprises. The results showed that about 90% of the enterprises were trying to build their own information platform, trying to reduce production costs, shorten the reaction cycle or enhance the terminal control ability relying on the advantages of information platform; the rest of the enterprises were also thinking about how to use information technology to improve performance and management level.

However, Ge Xing, director of garment industry of AMT consulting company, told reporters that only from the proportion of information input and sales revenue of domestic garment enterprises, 85% of enterprises were less than 1%, 10% of enterprises reached 1%-2%, and 5% of enterprises reached more than 2%.

And foreign garment enterprises' informatization input should reach at least 2% of sales revenue, leading enterprises even reach 5%-10%.

"Lower input level determines that the informatization level of domestic textile and garment industry is generally low, and the situation of information construction is not satisfactory."

    Ge Xing said.

Reporters learned in the interview that the application of information technology in the textile industry is mainly reflected in computer aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM), management information system (including manufacturing resource planning, enterprise resource planning, etc.), information network and e-commerce, supply chain management, automatic monitoring system of textile electronic equipment, automatic control system and so on.

Although many textile enterprises have realized the importance of information technology, the potential of information technology has not been brought into full play.

Compared with electronics, automobile and other industries, the overall level of information technology in textile industry is still very low.

Enterprise informatization is mainly concentrated in relatively elementary aspects, such as finance, OA (office software) and so on.

The comprehensive utilization of information software such as ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) is still very low.

Even if the use of "fragmented" and did not integrate information, there are "isolated islands of information".

Wu Di told reporters that in terms of the status quo of the textile industry informatization, there are four main problems: first, there is a serious shortage of funds for the informatization of enterprises; second, there is a serious shortage of talents in information technology; third, there is a lack of software products suitable for industrial applications; fourth, the lack of overall planning for informatization construction.

In this regard, Wu Fugen, general manager of Shanghai circle Information Technology Co., Ltd. stressed that adhering to the integration of two technologies and speeding up information construction is an inevitable choice for China's textile industry, as well as a key link in promoting its industrial restructuring and enhancing its international competitiveness.

Wu Fugen believes that the innovation of textile enterprises should have insight into diversified markets and be good at forecasting.

The innovation capability of textile enterprises is embodied in the aspects of production management efficiency, cost control ability, quick response ability and market operation ability. All these must be based on informatization.

Only by using information technology, standardizing the R & D, production, marketing and management, carrying out comprehensive scientific management, strengthening the communication between the horizontal departments and the vertical and downstream supply chain, can the textile enterprises enhance the level of enterprise management, establish and perfect the standardized management system of enterprises, and enhance the competitiveness of enterprises.

IT enterprises can not meet the needs of information technology.

"Textile industry users have information needs, but domestic IT manufacturers can not fully satisfy; domestic IT manufacturers have their own products and solutions, but users do not buy it."

"These problems are very common in the domestic textile industry," said Lu Mou Du, partner of management consulting.

A relevant official of Ordos group told reporters that foreign IT manufacturers did not have special process software for developing and producing special Chinese users. Only computer software and design software matched with computers, the functions of the process software exported to Chinese equipment were blocked.

Moreover, these softwares are expensive and domestic enterprises can not afford them.

It is understood that some IT companies in China are trying to do this kind of software, but also developed some products, but only have some common and common functions, lack of a little complex and advanced functions, unable to meet the needs of users.

Wu Di also stressed that the textile industry is currently lack of suitable software for industry applications. "Most ERP manufacturers can not provide software versions suitable for various sectors of the textile industry".

Speaking of the future development trend of information technology in the textile industry, Wu Fugen told reporters that CAD (Computer Aided Design), automatic control system, fabric organization, printing pattern design and color separation draft, electronic embroidery, clothing design and discharge, electronic color matching and other information technology are mainly applied in a single department, and will integrate with the enterprise information management system in the future to form the integration of enterprise information.

He believes that management information system is the focus and difficulty of IT application in textile industry, because this part will be the most widely applied area in the future, and will be most valuable to enhance the management efficiency of the enterprise.

The development trend of the future will be how to form the information chain of the industrial chain after the integration of enterprise information on a single node and form the network "virtual industrial cluster" effect. This will not only effectively reduce the internal management cost, but also reduce the collaboration cost between enterprises.

It will help China's textile industry to achieve the healthy development path of continuously promoting industrial upgrading from OEM (OEM), to ODM (commissioned design and production), to OBM (private label).

Wu Di pointed out that the difference between China's textile industry informatization level and foreign countries is not only manifested in the product design of the front end, but also in the brand and marketing of the back end.

Lu Mou Du also believes that the informatization of sales terminals is indeed a difficult point. The value chain competition of textile industry needs the support of the sales side. The higher the product, the higher the demand for sales information.

In his view, China's textile industry information companies want to make breakthroughs, marketing platform and e-commerce is a good entry point.

According to ge Xing, with the rise of e-commerce mode such as Taobao, more than half of China's clothing enterprises are planning to build e-commerce platform, so as to reduce sales costs and improve sales performance.

In addition, the research on RFID (radio frequency identification) technology in the textile industry is far from enough.

Ordos group has considered the use of RFID technology in production handover, but it has yet to find a mature scheme that can be accepted in terms of performance, price and stability.

Domestic products are either high in price, or there are problems in scanning recognition rate and stability, for example, there will be missed sweep during close scan.

Cashmere products are of high value and must not be allowed to happen.

However, due to the cost problem, RFID has not been widely applied in China's textile and garment industry.

But RFID's future development prospects are still valued by experts from all walks of life.
