Bangladesh Announces Adjustment Of Minimum Wage For Garment Workers

　 The Bangladesh parliamentary body requested the Ministry of labour and employment to announce the appropriate minimum wage structure for garment workers in July 28th. In addition, the Standing Committee of the Ministry of labour and employment suggested that efforts should be made to eliminate the problems faced by the clothing industry.

The Ministry of labor and employment has announced that the three party meeting of the Ministry of labour and employment, clothing owners and workers will be convened soon. The current turbulence in the garment industry will become the main topic of the three party conference.

At a parliamentary session, Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Minister of labour and employment, proposed a bill to raise the service age of workers from 57 to 60. Parliamentary bodies require the Ministry to implement the labour Welfare Fund Act.

In addition, the agency recommends improving the activities of the technology training centre. At the same time, the Council discussed the current policy of road transport and trade union registration, as well as the fees charged by various trade associations in nominal terms. In order to find a solution to the problem, a three member sub committee will be set up to discuss the divergence from the labor law. The committee also requested the Ministry of labour and employment to work hard to find new international labour markets.
