Since July 1st, many provinces and municipalities such as Beijing, Henan, Shenzhen, Shaanxi, Anhui and Hainan have raised minimum wage standards, with an average increase of more than 20%.
According to incomplete statistics, there are 27 provinces and municipalities that have been upregulated or planned to increase this year, and 18 provinces have raised the minimum wage standards.

"The wage increase highlighted the competitive advantage of Jiangsu's labor force price and attracted many workers from the Pearl River Delta to Jiangsu."
Dong Yingfeng, spokesman for the Suzhou labor and Social Security Bureau, said that the wage adjustment in the current round of the country has positive effects on individuals and employment enterprises.
"This can not only increase the disposable income of labourers, improve their living standards, but also promote enterprises in the region to retain high-quality workers and stabilize their workforce."
The raising of minimum wage standards has also caused some controversy.
Some people worry that this will increase the operating costs of enterprises, affect the profits of enterprises, and may even reduce the attractiveness of foreign investment.
However, the relevant experts believe that increasing the wages of employees will inevitably increase production costs, which will accelerate the pformation and upgrading of enterprises, and introduce new and high technology to enhance the efficiency of enterprises.

At present, China's senior skilled workers account for only 3% of the workers, while the developed countries account for about 35%. Improving the skill level of the workers is particularly critical.

In the future, we need to create more training opportunities for workers, enhance their skill level and improve their labor productivity."

Therefore, Li Bingyan, the professor of the Party School of the provincial Party committee, suggests that only the enterprises have to speed up the pformation and upgrade only to have a way out, and the core competitiveness of enterprises must not be built on cheap labor.
