    The Federation reported that the global rebound in yarn and fabric production could be seen. Production fell to a trough in the first quarter of 2009, and the downward trend in the first quarter of 2010 ended.

    Compared with the fourth quarter of 2009, the output of yarn and fabric decreased significantly, but it remained at a fairly high level compared with the first quarter of 2009.

    Asia's yarn and fabric output declined particularly, but European output also declined, while in North America and South America, output was stable or increased in the previous quarter.

    The decrease in global yarn was mainly due to a decrease in inventory in South America, while stocks in other regions remained almost unchanged.

    The increase in global fabric inventories is due to Asia and South America.

    South American yarn orders have increased, but Europe remains unchanged.

    Orders for European fabrics increased and South America grew significantly.


    In the first quarter of 2010, world yarn production decreased by -12.8% compared with the previous quarter.

    The main reason is China's reduction (-17.5%).

    Europe also reduced -4.0%, while North America and South America increased +5.1% and +17.4% respectively.

    Compared with the fourth quarter of last year, average production in all regions increased.

    The growth rate was +60.4%, and the yarn production in South America increased significantly, but Europe's output growth (+20,1%), Asian growth (+14.6%) and North American growth (+1.5%).

    Yields in Asia and Europe decreased by -11.4% and -3.6% respectively.

    The main reason is that China's fabric production is reduced by -16.4%.

    North America and South America reported stable yields and output increased by + / -0% and 5.3% respectively.

    Nevertheless, global fabric output increased by +8.3% compared to the same period last year.

    Only North American fabric production decreased by -9.2% during this period, and output in other regions increased.

    European fabric production increased by +20.3%, and South America's output increased by +2.4%.


    World yarn inventories fell slightly by 0.8% in the first quarter of 2010.

    South America dropped -4.8%, and Europe and Asia decreased -0.9% and -0.6% respectively.

    World yarn inventory dropped by -7.7% compared with the same period last year, with South America decreasing by -31.4%, Asia by -8.1% and Europe by -4.7%.


    In the first quarter of 2010, global fabric inventories grew by +3.3%, of which Asia, South America and Europe increased by +4.4%, +4.0% and +0.8% respectively.

    Only North American fabric inventories were reduced by -0.6%.

    Compared with the first quarter of last year, global fabric inventories increased significantly, and South America and the growth of +36.0% and +11.7% respectively.

    Fabric inventory in North America and Europe decreased by -15.2% and -1 3% respectively.


    European yarn orders remained unchanged in the first quarter, while fabric orders increased slightly by +1.5%.

    Brazil yarn orders grew by +7.2%, while fabric orders surged by +37.3%.

    European and Cretaceous yarn orders increased by +15.5% and +25.3% respectively over the same period last year.

    Meanwhile, orders for fabrics in Brazil and Europe increased by +9.5% and +18.1% respectively.
