Cameroon Textile Enterprises Need To Grow Stronger

Customs statistics showed that Cameroon's cotton imports increased by two times from 2000 to 2004. But during this period, the turnover of Cameroon cotton (16105, -185.00, -1.14%) industrial Cotonni re Industrielle Du Cameroun was reduced by 50%.

In view of the continuous development of the textile market, Cameroon textile enterprises, under the leadership of the Interprofession coton textile et confection (ICOTEC), strive to occupy the market share.
ICOTEC chairman Carolina Sack Kendem (Caroline Sack Kendem) said that with the support of government funds, the association will organize textile enterprises to strive to achieve the goal of processing 40% cotton in the country in 2015.
She said there were more than 30 textile enterprises in Cameroon in the 80s of last century, but only two to three developed in the last 10 years.
