Liu Xin, deputy director of the Sichuan provincial chamber of Commerce, held a forum on footwear export enterprises in Chengdu chamber of Commerce Bureau on the afternoon of July 14th.

The main export enterprises of footwear industry, Chengdu customs, Sichuan entry exit inspection and Quarantine Bureau, Provincial Foreign Trade Bureau, Chengdu Municipal Taxation Bureau, Chengdu Business Bureau, Wuhou District government, Wuhou shoe capital administrative committee and relevant departments of our office attended the meeting.

The participating enterprises introduced the current export and hand orders and the export situation in the second half of the year, put forward suggestions for expanding the export of footwear and speeding up the development of the footwear industry. The relevant departments of the provincial and city departments have answered the questions raised by the enterprises and introduced the policies and measures of their departments to support the rapid development of footwear enterprises and expand their exports.

At the meeting, Liu Xin, deputy director of the Provincial Department of Commerce, informed the foreign trade development and footwear export situation of the province in the first half of this year, and stressed: in recent years, the footwear industry in Sichuan has developed rapidly, the industrial foundation has been consolidated gradually, and the export has been continuously improving.

At the same time, consumers are increasingly concerned about green, non-toxic and environment-friendly consumer goods. They are more willing to choose products that are harmless to the human body and environment. Some buyers and brands of textile footwear products respond positively to this public awareness, examine products from an ecological perspective, and have formulated environmental protection requirements for textile and footwear products many years ago. These so-called green barriers restricting exports of products are also effective means to improve product quality and competitiveness.

In order to encourage the production and consumption of "green products" in Europe, the European Union issued an eco label system in 1992, which involves 19 types of products, including textiles, clothing, mattresses and footwear. The definition of eco shoes is also derived from the footwear eco label in the system.

In the EU textile and apparel market, the products labeled with "green" label are 20% to 30% higher than those of the same kind of ordinary textiles and garments in the circulation field, and can be more favored by the importers of the European Union. Therefore, further understanding of the eco textile labels will help to increase the added value and technical content of the products and enhance the product quality.

In this seminar, the "entry-level" environmental requirements for textile footwear products are launched, and the chemical indicators that are currently exported to the European Union must be analyzed, and extended to the eco label environmental protection requirements under the green consumption trend. The aim is to help the textile and footwear products produced by enterprises to enter the EU market smoothly, and to formulate their appropriate environmental protection strategies in combination with product market positioning.
