Taiwan'S Industry Supports ECFA&Nbsp; &Nbsp; Advantages To The Textile Industry Outweigh The Disadvantages.
The ARATS and the SEF recently signed the framework agreement on Cross Strait Economic Cooperation (hereinafter referred to as ECFA), opening a new era of cross-strait economic and trade exchanges. Once the implementation of the agreement will have an impact on the textile and garment industry across the Strait, the two sides have made their own judgments before and after the signing of the agreement.
Taiwan Industry: support ECFA, the advantages of the textile industry outweigh the disadvantages.
For the signing of ECFA, Taiwan
textile industry
The boundary can be said for a long time.
As early as last year, Wang Wenyuan, President of Formosa Plastics Group, once again joined the chairman of the Taiwan textile and Development Association, called loudly: Taiwan textile industry is facing the most difficult period. The industry needs new ideas, design and technology. Taiwan authorities must have relevant policy support, especially ECFA must sign as soon as possible.
He said that Taiwan textile industry performance decline, the key to the development of the entire industry is on the mainland.
1/3 of the total output of Taiwan's textile industry is sold to the mainland, but the mainland has the advantage of labor cost, and the labor cost of Taiwan is very high. It is very difficult for Taiwanese businessmen to expand production in Taiwan.
Therefore, in addition to maintaining technological and creative advantages, Taiwan textile industry must maintain good relations with the mainland.
Huang Weiji, Secretary General of Taiwan Textile Development Association, has also indicated to the outside world that the signing of ECFA on both sides of the Taiwan Strait has more advantages than Taiwan's textile industry. The 21 textile unions of Taiwan textile industry support signing ECFA.
He pointed out that ECFA signed and began to impose zero tariffs on textiles since January 1, 2011, assuming that 23 million people in Taiwan buy mainland textiles, and the total value of mainland textile exports to Taiwan is only 1 billion 500 million ~16 billion.
However, after the mainland implements zero tariff, Taiwan textile upstream enterprises, including chemical fiber and fabrics, will enjoy zero tariff treatment. It is estimated that the number of textiles exported to Taiwan will increase several times compared with last year.
He further analyzed that if the two sides did not sign ECFA, and South Korea first implemented tariff free duties with the mainland, it would seriously affect the development of Taiwan's textile industry.
After the signing of ECFA, the influx of mainland textiles to Taiwan may aggravate the competition of Taiwan's textile industry, with Taiwan.
knitting
Pan Yiliang, the Queen's new era fashion designer, said Taiwan's textile industry is not afraid of competition.
She stressed that Taiwan and the mainland should have more choices to open the market to each other, making the market more diversified and more open.
Lin Guoji, another famous designer in Taiwan, pointed out that Taiwan has been open to the outside world for decades, and whether its competitors are from the international community or the mainland, as long as the enterprises have their own strength, the industry is not afraid of competition.
Xiang Ling Co., Ltd. is a Taiwan textile company with more than 20 years of history. It mainly produces knitted prints, plain weave, rib fabrics and other fashion fabrics. It is mainly sold in Europe. At present, it has established a distribution point in Shenzhen. Feng Zhenyu, a senior business representative of the company, told reporters that after the signing of ECFA, the zero tariff of textile products is conducive to the expansion of the mainland market, and they are confident in their products.
Mainland industry: Taiwan textile "entry" has limited influence.
The products in the ECFA early harvest plan will be reduced by 2 years and 3 periods, and will eventually be zero duty.
The list of early collection products for cross strait tax cuts involves products such as cotton yarn, cotton cloth, rayon yarns and other products in the middle and upper reaches of the textile industry. When these products are subject to zero tariff, import prices will also decrease significantly, which will undoubtedly have a certain impact on the mainland market.
For this reason, some mainland textile and garment enterprises are very rational.
Chen Baojian, director and assistant director of technology center of Tianjin textile Klc Holdings Ltd, went to Shandong to participate in the Sino Korean cotton textile conference just now. During the meeting, he exchanged with Taiwan's cotton textile industry counterparts.
According to his understanding, the cotton textile industry in Taiwan has shrunk considerably, the spindles have dropped sharply and production capacity has declined, mainly producing some functional fiber yarns.
In addition, according to his understanding, recently, in a report on the Taiwan trade system, the world trade organization also said that Taiwan's once strong textile and garment industry has been shrinking due to the rise in labor costs.
Therefore, he believes that even after the implementation of ECFA, the mainland will impose zero tariffs on Taiwan related cotton textile products, which will not have a big impact on the mainland's existing market structure.
As to whether or not he will take the ECFA's easterly march into the Taiwan market, Chen Baojian appears to be more cautious. He said that the company's products are all sold domestically, and they have not studied deeply about such a relatively narrow and unfamiliar market in Taiwan, and they should continue to observe the actual effect of the implementation of ECFA.
Holding a similar view of the mainland textile enterprises are not very few, Wang Jiayu, assistant general manager of Nantong Shuang Hong Textile Co., Ltd. also believes that the early checklist has limited impact on the mainland textile enterprises.
On the one hand, the textile industry in Taiwan is small in scale and limited in capacity, and can not be compared with the mainland. On the other hand, the cost of raw materials and labor in Taiwan is relatively high, and there is no special advantage, and many enterprises have pferred their factories to the mainland.
Even if some products come in, it will not be a bad thing for the mainland's textile industry. On the contrary, external pressure will cause the mainland's textile industry to go backward and upgrade.
At the same time, the mainland textile enterprises can learn from each other's strengths. Taiwan textile enterprises indeed have much to learn from the integration of global resources, new product development, and market development.
For the advantages of Taiwan's textile industry and the impact of ECFA implementation on the textile and garment industry across the Strait, Liu Yunyou, deputy general manager of Handan Sheng Mo Textile Co., Ltd., is thinking of himself.
Liu Yun told reporters that compared with the mainland, Taiwan textile enterprises do better in dyeing, finishing and other fabric processing areas. The product quality is relatively stable and the design concept is more close to Europe and America, and the products are more fashionable. However, the products designed by many mainland enterprises simply understand fashion as fancy, which is rather superficial.
In addition, Taiwan enterprises have an advantage over the mainland in terms of their operation and management. For example, at present, many textile enterprises in mainland China are using modal products produced by the Austria Lenzing Co. The brand that can compete with Lan Jing and the brand that is heard is probably only produced by the platform company. It can be seen that the strength of Taiwan textile enterprises in technological R & D and brand operation.
These powerful brands will enter the mainland and will more or less impact the thinking of mainland enterprises.
Speaking of this, we have to mention that the development of textile and garment industry in Fujian is closely related to the influx of Taiwan products. Nowadays, Fujian's Shishi, a household name, is largely benefited from the presence and promotion of Taiwan enterprises and their products.
