Christopher Bailey: I Love The Passion And Energy That Fashion Brings.
In the past 12 months, Christopher Bailey has won many awards.
In December 2009, he won the annual Designer Award from the British fashion ceremony. In June of last year, he won the international award of the American Fashion Designers Association.
Since taking over the Burberry brand in 2001 and shaping the brand into an image of young and old alike, Christopher Bailey has become a first-line designer. It's hard to believe that he is only 39 this year.
When Bailey was still studying at Royal College of Art, he was excavated by Donna Karan. He inherited the tradition of Burberry brand, skillfully applied the classic pattern of the brand, and constantly added innovative elements.
In this season's costumes, he pformed outdoor clothes into sexy interior costumes, and this summer launched the Burberry brand make-up series.
The following is the dialogue between Rosie Huntington-Whitley, the latest spokesperson and actress of Christopher Bailey and Burberry brand:
Christopher Bailey:, I didn't know that it was midnight at your side. I am sorry to ask you to work so late.
Huntington-Whiteley: I am very happy to speak for Burberry brand. This is a turning point in my career.
What do you think is the hallmark feature of Burberry girl?
Do you have any specific inspiration now?
Christopher Bailey: for me, people who can inspire me should have their own unique sense of beauty. This is not the beauty of appearance, but the aspect of personality.
I've seen a lot of people. When you meet people who can communicate with each other, it's really interesting. They have their own unique personality, energy, not just the beauty of appearance.
Huntington-Whiteley: how did you become a designer?
Christopher Bailey: when I was a kid, I didn't know fashion at all. My father was a carpenter. I often helped him build things.
I always feel that when I grow up, I will do things like my father, and I am also interested in architecture. Fashion should happen to happen.
Huntington-Whiteley: yes, congratulations on winning the CFDA award.
You have won many awards since you joined Burberry in 2001. Which prize is most important to you?
Christopher Bailey: can be recognized by the fashion industry. It's really a great pleasure.
CFDA this award is awarded by the industry. It is very happy to get their approval. The British Fashion Awards are also important to me, because it was presented in my hometown, and this award should be affirmed by our team.
You should also know that our team is very important. Without their help, I will not be able to achieve today's results.
Huntington-Whiteley: most amazing to me is that you have designed all the Burberry series. How did you do that?
Christopher Bailey: my organizational skills are pretty good. I can finish a meeting and then design perfume or design clothes, thanks to my very good design team.
Huntington-Whiteley: you launched the make-up brand every year. I think this is a continuation of perfume.
Christopher Bailey: every season I feel there is nothing missing. Many times I feel unable to describe the makeup of Burberry girl. So I decided to launch the brand make-up to make the brand more perfect.
We use natural makeup, simple and elegant ideas.
Huntington-Whiteley: I always wonder if designers can bring different designs one after another. Have you ever encountered bottlenecks in design?
Christopher Bailey: let me look at the world from an open perspective. I never force myself to find inspiration. I am not the kind of person who feels he must travel to other countries or experience other cultures to find inspiration.
When you are always open to your surroundings, you will always feel differently.
Huntington-Whiteley: I know you like movies and music very much. Do your favorite music inspire you?
Christopher Bailey: I always search for new musicians, artists, actors, and new music on the Internet.
I heard the song of Rory Cottam, and I was lucky enough to meet him.
Huntington-Whiteley: what do you like and hate most about fashion?
Christopher Bailey: I like the passion and energy that fashion brings, but there is always a deadline for being very annoying.
