According to "Vietnam Economic Times website" reported on July 8th, Vietnam's Ministry of industry and trade statistics show that Vietnam's annual sales of footwear 1.3-1.4 billion pairs, valued at 1 billion 500 million U.S. dollars, accounting for 30% of the industry's total export earnings.

Nguyen Cong, Secretary General of Vietnam footwear association, said that 90% of the products of Vietnamese footwear enterprises were exported, and the footwear produced by enterprises could only meet 40% of the domestic market demand.
To this end, Vietnam tried to raise this proportion to 60-70% by 2015.
Compared with traditional hiking shoes and mountaineering shoes, sales of weather sensitive sandals and multi-functional lightweight hikers are increasing significantly.
"Now a lot of consumers admit that they are often overequipped on trips," said MarcFischer, director of Adidas outdoor market center. In his view, lightweight climbing shoes are the winners in this trend.
ThomasKamm, the Solomon footwear manager, also agreed, "the current typical outdoor activities, like hiking and traversing, are undergoing great changes.
They are becoming more and more mobile and faster, and accordingly generate new consumption demand.
The major shoemaking companies also actively respond to this trend, and unveiled a series of new outdoor shoes: relying on the idea of "speed hiking", the German outdoor footwear brand Lowa will introduce more lightweight and sporty outdoor shoes at the upcoming European outdoor exhibition. At the same time, the Keen brand from the United States has also launched a series of fast cross-country shoes, with low sole height and natural fit of the feet.
These outdoor shoes seem to have some sense of movement in style. As long as they are not competing with professional cross-country runners, it is very comfortable to wear high intensity activities.
Although cross-country running is becoming more and more popular all over the world, it is hard to accept this concept in Germany.
"A lot of people in this country take part in cross-country running, some in forest lanes and some in natural parks, but some people call themselves cross-country enthusiasts." ThomasKamm feels that there should be a clearer positioning for the sport. "The place where cross-country starts is the place where tar ends. This should be the key message of the definition."
However, the sales figures reflected on the cross-country shoes are very clear. In Germany, each pair sells 6 pairs of running shoes, among which there are a pair of cross-country shoes.
