A Consensus Was Reached On The Cooperation And Exchange Of Textile And Fiber Industry Between The Two Sides.

The China Textile Industry Association and the Taiwan Textile Industry Research Institute jointly held the "cross strait textile and fiber industry cooperation and exchange conference" in Taipei on the 10 day, and reached a consensus on establishing exchange platform, cooperation mechanism, linking the global layout of pnational enterprises and promoting real industrial opportunities, and signed seven cooperation agreements.

After a day of communication, the conference reached a number of consensus.

In R & D and production, the two sides agreed to promote the exchange and cooperation of functional and industrial textiles based on the principle of complementary advantages of R & D and production chain. In response to the global trends and responsibilities of environmental protection, energy saving, carbon reduction and low carbon, the two sides will jointly push forward the information, technology and product exchange and cooperation platform and related programs.

In terms of inspection and information, the two sides agreed to establish textile commonality.

In terms of investment cooperation and business opportunities, the two sides agreed to establish an exchange and cooperation platform combined with their respective advantages of production, manufacturing, channel marketing and brand to jointly develop cross-strait and international markets. The two sides agreed to actively promote two-way investment activities on both sides of the Strait.

At present, the mainland is already the largest import and export and investment market of Taiwan's textile and garment industry.

According to statistics from Taiwan in 2009, the mainland accounted for 34% of the value of Taiwan's imports, about 740 million US dollars, and the value of exports containing Hongkong was about 3 billion 300 million US dollars, accounting for 36%. As of last year, Taiwan approved 2378 cases of mainland investment in the textile and garment industry, with a total investment of 2 billion 700 million US dollars, accounting for 50% of the foreign investment of the textile and garment industry in Taiwan.

Huang Zhongqiu, deputy director of the Ministry of economic affairs of Taiwan, pointed out that the textile and fiber industry of the two sides of the Taiwan Strait has become an inseparable partner. We hope to create a new pattern of win-win cooperation through joint platform and with the three links, the cross strait economic cooperation framework agreement, and the opening of land and resources to Taiwan, and jointly explore the international market.

Gao Yong, vice president of China Textile Industry Association, said that the two sides began to contact the textile industry as early as 1992.

Over the past decade, Taiwan's textile industry has invested heavily in the mainland and has played an important role in the development of the mainland's textile industry.

In the next 5 to 10 years, the mainland's textile industry needs to step up pformation and upgrading, and cross-strait cooperation will be more closely related.

More than 350 representatives from the two sides of the Straits attended the meeting. Among them, Taiwan represented more than 270, and Mainland China represented more than 80.

At the end of the meeting, the two sides signed 7 cooperation agreements.

The meeting will be held alternately in Taiwan and the mainland. This is the first session and the next will be held in mainland China next year.

According to the briefing, since 2008, the "bridging plan" for Taiwan's economic sector to promote cross-strait industrial cooperation has helped more than 700 enterprises across the Straits to conclude more than 70 cooperation intentions and over 80 cooperation plans, and nearly 10000 people from all walks of life participated in the "Bridge Conference", including this meeting.
