As the key base of leather processing in Henan Province, Jiaozuo has more than 60 approved entry point processing enterprises, of which more than 30 have obtained export qualification.

According to statistics, the leather products exported to Germany in Jiaozuo every year are worth about 3000000 US dollars.

The experts of Jiaozuo entry exit inspection and quarantine bureau pointed out that when dealing with the new law, the export enterprises should achieve three points: first, the leather processing enterprises should formulate strict leather production control procedures, adjust the leather making process, add general substitute additives, use vegetable tanning agents to retanning, add antioxidants in the Fatliquoring Process, test the chrome powder used in leather making, avoid the high toxic residue of six valent chromium.

Secondly, through strict supply chain process control and internal management, in the initial stage of procurement and processing, we should pay attention to the safety of residual substances in raw materials and semi finished leather.

Third, the relevant government departments should strengthen their contacts and cooperation with enterprises and provide support for enterprises to seek policy support. In addition, technical forces should be put in place to study the advanced production processes of auxiliary substitute materials in leather manufacturing industry, so as to make up for the shortage of domestic leather making industry in process manufacturing.
