    Thermal properties of PPS fiber


    PPS fiber has excellent thermal stability and excellent heat resistance. The melting point is 285 degrees centigrade, which is higher than that of other melt spinning fibers currently used in industrial production. Therefore, the size of the product is relatively stable, and the products made from PPS fiber are difficult to burn. It will burn when it is placed in the flame, but once the flame is removed, the combustion will stop immediately, the yellow orange flame will be formed when burning, and the trace black ash will be generated. The combustion products will not fall off and form residual coke, showing lower ignition delay and smoke density. The limit oxygen index can reach 34%-35%, and it will not burn under normal atmospheric conditions.

    If used as filter fabric for bag filter room of coal-fired boiler, in wet acid environment, the long-term use temperature of PPS fiber is 150-170 degrees centigrade, the maximum usage temperature is 190 C, and its service life can reach 3 years or so.

    Application of PPS fiber


    Because polyphenylene sulfide fibers are excellent in heat resistance, corrosion resistance and flame retardancy, they are widely used in environmental protection, chemical industry filtration and military fields.

    For example: high temperature bag type dust collector, garbage incinerator, cement plant filter bag, electrical insulation material, flame retardant material, composite material used in thermal power plant. In addition, it can also be used for canvas, sewing thread, various protective cloth, heat resistant material, electric insulation material, electrolytic diaphragm and friction disc (brake).

    PPS needle punched nonwovens or woven fabrics can be used for filtration of hot corrosive agents. They are ideal heat-resistant and corrosion resistant materials.

    Needle felt tapes made from PPS fiber are used for drying machines in the paper industry. They can also be used for making special paper in the electronics industry.

    Its monofilament or multifilament fabrics can also be used as defog materials, and Japan's Da he textile company develops PPS fiber into industrial filter cloth for flue gas and chemical filtration.


    1, thermal power flue dust removal


    PPS fiber is mainly used for filtering fabric in industrial combustion boiler bag filter room. Waste heat flue gas discharged from industrial furnace contains a variety of corrosive chemicals. The service life of the general materials is short and the filtering effect is poor.

    The PPS filter fabric used for industrial coal-fired boilers can survive for 3 years in a wet acidic environment below 190 degrees Celsius.
