Combed Yarn: From Quantity Growth To Quality Improvement
On September 27~28, more than 140 representatives from the industry, experts and more than 70 textile and textile machinery and equipment enterprises held an in-depth discussion and exchange on the topics of combed yarn product development, new high efficiency comber performance, combing process innovation, combing quality control, combing equipment modification, combing key equipment selection, combing production management and so on in the 2010 China yarn quality and new product development technology forum organized by the cotton textile technology magazine.

Statistics show that the whole country in 2000 Combed yarn The proportion is only about 13%, and increased to 20% in 2005. During the "11th Five-Year" period, the growth rate of combed yarn was further accelerated, and the proportion of combed yarn in 2008 and 2009 reached 27.10% and 27.82% respectively. The proportion of combed yarn in Jiangsu, Shandong, Guangdong, Zhejiang and other textile provinces has exceeded 30%.
With the increase in output, China's cotton textile enterprises have made breakthroughs in the development of combed products. The single combed yarn series and double combed yarn series produced by the new technology are very common. Combed Yarns, such as natural colored cotton combed yarn series, dyed cotton combed yarn series, multicomponent blended combed yarn series, and compact spinning combed yarn series, rotor spinning combed yarn series and vortex spinning combed yarn series, are produced in different materials.
At the forum, Zhang Jianxiang, director of the R & D center of Shandong Lu Tai textile Limited by Share Ltd, introduced some concrete practices and experiences of developing super fine combed yarn. Super fine combed yarn is located in high-end products with high technical content and high added value. Lu Tai Company is constantly exploring in the production practice, tackling many technical problems, developing the super combed products to meet the needs of customers, upgrading the grade of yarn products, and making the company's competitiveness in the forefront of the industry. In the cotton textile industry, there are many other enterprises like Shandong Rutai textile Limited by Share Ltd who are committed to the innovative development of combed products. Xinjiang Yida, Wuxi one cotton, Jihua 3542, Anhui Huamao, Liaocheng Huarun and other enterprises have successfully produced 1.95tex (300S) superfine combed yarn.
Three major concerns
"The proportion of combed yarn production is gradually improving, which is undoubtedly a great progress. However, at present, there are still some worrying problems in developing combed yarn products in China's cotton spinning enterprises." Fu Enfu, director of the national cotton textile science and Technology Information Center and President of the cotton textile technology periodical society, was endorsed by most of the participants at the meeting. It is generally accepted that the domestic combed yarn has a certain distance from the developed countries in terms of diversification, grade and quality.
First of all, the number of Combed Yarns is not wide and the proportion is not reasonable. At present, most textile enterprises in China mainly spun 18.2tex, 14.5tex, 9.7tex and 7.3tex (32S, 40S, 60S, 80S) conventional yarns, of which 18.5tex~14.5tex (32S~40S) fine yarns account for more than 60% of the combed yarn, while super fine yarn and medium quality yarn with special quality requirements are less, especially those of inferior fine Combed Yarns under 7.3tex (below).
In addition, combed yarn varieties are not rich enough. At present, the conventional cotton products are still dominant in China. Although the application of new fibers has been strengthened, the proportion is only 10% to 15%. In addition, using new spinning technology to develop and produce high quality and unique combed yarn products, the proportion is not high, the application area is not wide, the product category is monotonous.
The overall quality of combed yarn needs to be improved. With the improvement of the spinning equipment level in China, the quality of combed products has made great progress in recent years. However, the quality of combed yarn is still somewhat different from that of the latter process, especially for fine count yarn and extra fine yarn, mainly due to many defects and low horizontal evenness. Neps, impurities, thick sections, details, breaking strength, strong CV, Mao Yu and so on are quite different from those of foreign products, and the quality of the fabric is not up to the real high-grade level.
The future is based on quality improvement.
Many experts suggest that at the same time, how to further improve the quality of combed yarn, enhance the quality of combed products, and reduce the gap between combed yarn and foreign combed yarn will be a major problem for cotton spinning enterprises in the future. Through discussions and exchanges, delegates agreed on how to develop combed yarn in the future.
First of all, we should strengthen the combination of the terminal market in the development of combed products. With the development of textiles in the trend of high-grade and functional development, new raw materials and environment-friendly fiber yarns are developed, and yarn suitable for health care clothing, high-grade underwear and high-grade home textile fabrics is developed to expand export market.
Second, strengthen the matching application and process design of new comber. In recent years, through independent development and technological innovation, our combing equipment has reached the international advanced level, and many domestic new high efficiency comber can reach 500 tweezers / points. The use of comber not only reduces the amount of cotton used, but also reduces the noil rate by 8% to 10%, and reduces energy consumption by 8% to 10%. Therefore, in the process of structural adjustment and industrial upgrading, spinning enterprises should strengthen the renewal and matching of new combing equipment. At the same time, with the wide application of new high efficiency combing equipment, we must attach importance to the matching design of combing process in production. We must consider various factors such as equipment type, processing raw material, product type, spinning equipment, production environment before and after spinning process, and work out feasible workplan so as to achieve better production effect and improve product quality.
Thirdly, combing process optimization and quality control should be strengthened to improve product quality. The new high efficiency comber is widely used in textile enterprises, but at the same time, there is a phenomenon that the advanced equipment is mixed with the backward equipment. For different equipment with different structure and performance, different processes should be adopted to enhance the optimal configuration of the process and make reasonable technological parameters. It is necessary to consider the technological adjustment of the combing preparation process and the preceding process, the quality of the semi finished products, and the influence of the technological configuration of the combing process on the combing yarn.
In addition, the performance and optimization of combing special equipment are the key to the successful combing process and the core of the combing process.
The participants agreed that textile enterprises should be reasonably selected according to the type, raw materials, processes, yarns, quality requirements and production environment. We should attach importance to the maintenance and management of combed special equipment, and give full play to the role of special equipment to ensure the stability of combed products.
