In 2007, 157 farmers in Kaiyuan planted 700 mu of silkworm eggs and became the first group to eat crab in Kaiyuan mulberry sericulture industry. At the same time, Kaiyuan introduced Yunnan Bao Ze Industrial Company in Kaiyuan Company and signed a technical cooperation agreement with Yunnan provincial sericulture Research Institute. Magical changes in three sets of numbers

At present, Kaiyuan city has carried out technical cooperation with the Sericultural Research Institute of Zhejiang Academy of agriculture and Yunnan Provincial Academy of Agricultural Sciences, introduced high-quality seedlings and advanced technology in Zhejiang Province, and built high-quality grafting mulberry and mulberry breeding base, breeding 2 million 500 thousand mulberry seedlings annually, providing 1 million 800 thousand strains of high-quality seedlings for Honghe Prefecture and Yunnan province.

Kaiyuan city has become the first big county (city) of silkworm industry development in Honghe Prefecture. Its scale is far beyond the old mulberry silkworm breeding areas such as Cao Ba and cold spring in Mengzi city of Honghe Prefecture.

According to Tang Bin, the "12th Five-Year plan" of Kaiyuan sericulture industry has been drafting. By 2015, the planting area of Kaiyuan mulberry garden will reach 50 thousand mu, 180 thousand silkworm breeding species per year, 6500 tons of Cocoon Output, and 800 tons of self produced raw silk, achieving 125 million yuan of agricultural output value and 150 million yuan of industrial output value.

At that time, the sericulture industry will become another pillar industry in the agricultural industry of Kaiyuan city.

"Breaking the cocoon into a butterfly" requires pushing hands.

Although the Kaiyuan sericulture industry has made considerable progress in the past three years, it still faces some difficulties and problems.

Tang Bin said that because of insufficient investment and weak infrastructure, farmers who only planted mulberry without raising silkworms increased in Kaiyuan.

Silkworm production needs to plant good mulberry, mulberry management, special silkworm silkworm, and so on. It is an industry that needs a certain fund to invest in the first period.

The basic facilities of sericulture industry are weak. Kaiyuan large area mulberry garden is a hilly dry land. There is no special irrigation measure. Mulberry irrigation almost depends on the weather of the heavens. Therefore, increasing capital investment and policy support and improving the infrastructure of silkworm rearing as soon as possible are the most urgent problems for mulberry farmers.

Second, sericulture production, management, technology guidance and technology popularization need to be improved.

In the promotion of sericulture industry, Kaiyuan city lacks the main body of the industry to grasp the industry and the technicians who know the technology, and the strength of the farmers' guidance and production technology is insufficient.
