Passion Eight Sets &Nbsp; SPINEXPO Is About To Move Towards New Departure.
Exclusive interview with MS. Karine Van Tassel, founder and operator of SPINEXPO international popular yarn exhibition.
Since its launch in March 2003, the SPINEXPO international fashion yarn exhibition, the founder and operator of Karine Van Tassel, has been committed to providing the most international and creative display platform for fiber, yarn, knitwear and knitted fabrics, as well as the development of creative trends. It also introduces the most comprehensive and well chosen products internationally to the Asian market.
From the Shanghai International Conference Center to the Pudong exhibition hall, we witnessed the growth and development of SPINEXPO international popular yarn exhibition again and again.
The eighteenth Shanghai international popular yarn exhibition in September 2011 will be moved to a fashionable modern art museum, the Theme Pavilion of the Expo. The new location will bring all exhibitors together on the same floor. The fantastic and modern settings will further enhance the reputation of the SPINEXPO international popular yarn exhibition.
SPINEXPO will open another brand new start here.
Q: how did you get started?
SPINEXPO
The idea of international popular yarn exhibition?
A: is the founder of Shanghai international popular yarn exhibition and New York international popular yarn exhibition. I just keep up with the trend of international fashion industry.
When I first entered the textile industry, fashion brands at that time led the fashion trend.
At the beginning, I worked for Madame Gr s, which was responsible for developing its garment series, and then entered Herm (s) as head of production department.
With the rise of the new generation of creatives, I moved to Marith & Fran OIS Girbaud, and then worked for brands like Cashel (Cacharel) and George Georges (Georges Rech).
When textile Innovation began to show vitality, I went to Dormeuil as the head of women's clothing department, and then came to Chargeurs group to be the marketing director responsible for publicizing corporate image. At the same time, I supervised the products of all women's clothing department of the weaving subsidiary of the group.

From the high fashion to the designer, to the leading brand, or to the fabric development, the next thing comes back to the original origin: fiber and yarn.
I decided to get closer to the source of the textile industry chain and pay more attention to me.
Career
Focus on the Asian market.
So I began a market survey in Asian countries against the French international yarn Exhibition (EXPOFIL) and the Italy international yarn Exhibition (FILO), and finally launched the FILASIA in Hongkong.
Later, I sold the FILASIA I sold to Italy cotton and linen textile association. I participated in a large market survey conducted by the association in China. The survey showed that China has great potential in textile consumption and innovation.
Although I am full of confidence, it is hard to convince my company's headquarters to hold such exhibitions in China. So I decided to operate independently, and the SPINEXPO international yarn exhibition came into being.
Q: can you briefly review the history of SPINEXPO international popular yarn exhibition?
A: initially, the exhibition aims to build a market communication bridge for European spinning enterprises and knitted and woven fabric manufacturers in the west coast of Asia or the United States. So most of the exhibitors are European and Japanese enterprises, and a small part comes from Korea and Taiwan.
Because the target audience of the exhibition is a mid and high-end enterprise with seasonal new products and strong R & D capability, it is almost impossible to see the Chinese local exhibitors in the first SPINEXPO.
But not long after, some large local groups in China began exhibiting. We tried to improve their display methods while diversifying their exhibits. In this way, an exciting journey was unveiled.
At the same time, the European spinning mills are facing the restructuring of the global market, so our exhibition has become a platform for establishing cooperation and joint venture. The number of European and Asian enterprises has begun to reverse, and SPINEXPO has become more and more diversified and more interesting.
Our team is coming along with the development of the exhibition. Marketing and fashion show become our priority.
Q: do you think the international popularity?
Yarn Expo
What are the key factors of success?
A: in my view, the most important and important factor is that we can flexibly cope with the rapidly changing global situation.
Despite the financial turmoil triggered by the SARS, the 911 terrorist attacks and even the subprime mortgage crisis, we are still advancing steadily under the background of global turbulence.
Sociological change determines the development trend of textiles.
SPINEXPO's management team is made up of a group of experts who are committed to the development of textiles. We do not aim at profit making.
Therefore, this enables us to break away from constraints, break through thinking, constantly adjust and adapt to the market, and satisfy the needs of exhibitors and spectators as far as possible.
We have very close cooperation with exhibitors.
This enables us to know well about their products and production lines, business strategies, and know what problems they face, what skills they have and their advantages and disadvantages.
At the same time, we also know the needs and expectations of the audience.
Everyone in our group has participated in exhibitions or exhibitions as spectators.
It is our duty to foresee the expectations of exhibitors and spectators, and to provide services and exhibits that meet their expectations.
We are not concerned about the number of exhibitors and spectators. We are more concerned about their quality and professionalism.
SPINEXPO is a business oriented trade show.
We devoted ourselves to SPINEXPO with great enthusiasm and passion: it is the exhibition that leads us to move forward, rather than leading the exhibition.

Our partners cover all types of enterprises in the industry, including machinery manufacturers and software designers. They organize exhibitions to show the achievements of development, and introduce new technologies to the audience in a vivid and vivid way. They have the same concerns as fiber promotion enterprises and manufacturers, constantly developing better products, introducing environmental protection products and innovative terminal products to improve people's lifestyles; teachers and students from textile colleges and universities have injected new ideas and vitality into this industry; knitwear designers and manufacturers have turned the yarn made by spinning enterprises into an attractive popular product; of course, as for spinning enterprises, they have many common interests with us.
We are proud to be a veritable "experimental field" where we display not only knitwear, but also woven fabrics, accessories and household products, all of which can be made of yarn.
There are so many numbers.
Of course, the trend of fashion has always been the focus of our attention.
Q: today, the international popular yarn exhibition has entered a mature stage of development for spectators and exhibitors.
As a sponsor, how to attract more representative exhibitors, so that SPINEXPO can maintain a good momentum of development.
At the same time, in order to ensure the quality of exhibitors, how to qualify the exhibitors?
A: now we do not see the emergence of new enterprises in Europe or Japan.
China has become the largest textile producing country in the world, and the textile enterprises here are mushrooming and growing.
After regrouping, European and Japanese enterprises turn to produce high-end textile fibers and yarns with unique characteristics.
Such enterprises are more oriented to the more sophisticated market where demand is relatively high, while Chinese spinning enterprises prefer leisure products. Their technological content and creativity are relatively low, aiming at winning high quality and high output.
In today's global market, different parts of the world have different skills advantages: thus showing rich and varied international characteristics, this is also the vision set by SPINEXPO from the beginning.
At present, many joint ventures and business partnership have been established. Some exhibitors have disappeared. Some of them have been reorganized, while most exhibitors regularly update and improve their product lines.
We did not adopt a programmed inspection process, but we would visit factories of exhibitors, check their products, and use their yarns to produce cards, garments, woven fabrics and accessories in the fashion exhibition area of the exhibition.
We have a clear understanding of the product quality of exhibitors, which is no less than that of end users.
Q: in the context of rising global raw material prices, what is the role of the international popular yarn exhibition in the whole industry chain?
A:, as well as exhibitors and spectators who own products and need to provide reasonably priced and creative clothing for their brands or customers, all of us need to break through our minds and brainstorm new challenges.
We believe that only by touching the nail can we generate a truly disruptive idea: how can we integrate, use and recreate a product to better match the sales demand of terminal products.
So we went back to the source of the textile process, starting from the acceptable price of the market, and trying to put aside the cost of raw materials to achieve this goal.
Lightweight, layered, blended...
These are all feasible solutions.
Q: what is your plan for the development of the international popular yarn exhibition?
A: in Shanghai, our biggest problem at present is that there is not enough space in the existing exhibition hall. This is not to say that we urgently need to expand the number of exhibitors, but we hope that exhibitors and exhibits can truly achieve diversified development.
More and more buyers are showing great interest in knitwear producers and designers at the exhibition. At the same time, manufacturers and designers constantly show us that they can display their high-end products and extraordinary creativity through the platform of the exhibition. So we decided to move the venue to the Expo Theme Pavilion, where we can assemble all exhibitors in a exhibition hall, add more booths, and have more space to show the trend of yarn.
We will move to the new exhibition hall in September 2011.
At the same time, we also plan to organize more fashion symposiums, especially for designers participating in yarn collaboration, and listen to their analysis of fashion trends.
We also hope to invite more machinery manufacturers, fiber developers and promotion companies to hold seminars to introduce more technical innovations.
In addition, as a special service for exhibitors, we hope that we can arrange the time for the next quarter's trend and color trends presentation, which may be held on the day of exhibitors' admission.
{page_break}
As for the development of SPINEXPO in other countries, we have also started in New York, specializing in the American continent (North, central and South America).
This is done for one purpose: the United States has a very close relationship with Asia, and today's customers are no longer limited to big brands in the United States, and the number of potential buyers in the US and South America is also growing.
Before that, there was no special yarn exhibition in the United States, so we saw the potential of the international popular yarn exhibition.
Although some exhibitors hope to add SPINEXPO to other places, we do not think this is necessary at the moment.
We do not copy past successful experiences in this field, and create new businesses in the name of exhibitions to make easy profits.
We hope that the exhibition will be able to maintain its vitality for a long time and prove to the exhibitors that the funds they invested in it is worthwhile through substantive results.
Now, I think we should try to attract more spectators from Europe to SPINEXPO Shanghai international popular yarn exhibition and New York international popular yarn exhibition instead of adding exhibitions elsewhere.
However, if global trends show that it is necessary to do so, we will not hesitate to follow it.
