1. China appeals against EU anti-dumping measures and firmly protects the interests of the industry.

The fifth meeting of the 137 Technical Committee of the international organization for Standardization (iso/tc 137) was held in Beijing in from June 7 to 8, 2010. It was the first time that the conference was held in China. It was also the first time that the International Conference on standardization of footwear industry was held in China.

At the meeting, after discussion, the iso/ts 19407 standard Chinese shoe number was incorporated into the world shoe number column, and iso/tc 19409 was added to the Chinese shoe last measurement method.

At the iso/tc 137 second working group meeting held in from November 10th to 12th, China and South Africa jointly assumed the Secretariat scheme and were passed by unanimous vote.

In from November 17th to 18th, at the twelfth annual meeting of the 216 Technical Committee of the international organization for Standardization (iso/tc 216), China submitted two standards, the flexural performance of footwear whole shoe testing methods, and the wear resistance of footwear whole shoe testing method, becoming a new standard work item of iso/tc 216.

Iso/tc 216 at this meeting, a new working group WG1 "footwear microorganism" was set up. This is the first working group set up by iso/tc 216 in 1998, and the China leather and footwear industry research institute is the convenor.

In order to further enhance the level of pollution prevention and control in leather industry, the Ministry of pollution prevention and control of the Ministry of environmental protection issued a notice on Environmental Protection Verification of tannery enterprises in July 16th.

All leather enterprises are required to take an active part in environmental protection verification, submit their applications voluntarily, carry out self inspection according to the requirements and carry out on-site inspection and spot checks.

At the same time, the Ministry of environmental protection commissioned the China Leather Association to organize experts to conduct on-site verification of the enterprises that submitted the application. From October to December, the China Leather Association organized six experts on the basis of the "environmental protection and self-discipline action team" of the tanning industry and organized a total of 60 experts to conduct on-site verification of more than tannery enterprises in the country. The Ministry of environmental protection will issue a tannery enterprise environmental compliance statement based on the verification results.

The smooth and healthy development of China Leather Association, together with local associations, has compiled the "12th Five-Year" development plan of China Leather Industry (Draft). Meanwhile, it has consulted widely with government departments, industry and enterprises, scientific research institutions and testing institutions, and submitted the fourth enlarged meeting of the Sixth Council of China Leather Association, which was held in August 31st.

Planning and analysis of the new situation facing the leather industry in the "12th Five-Year" period, taking Scientific Outlook on Development as the theme, focusing on the main line of changing the mode of economic development, made a forward-looking plan for readjustment of industrial structure, implementation of brand strategy, energy conservation and emission reduction.

At the same time, various leather industry gathering areas have also adapted to local conditions, and have launched their own development plans.
