Kampuchea'S Clothing Exports Increased By 26% Over The Same Period In 2010.
Cambodia State Department Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce, Lhasa, said 27 days after 2010 that the clothing industry in Kampuchea recovered well after the global financial crisis. In 2010, the clothing export volume reached US $3 billion, an increase of 26% over the US $2 billion 380 million in 2009, basically back to the 2008 level.
Benso Lasa said this shows that Kampuchea's economic recovery is in good shape.
Lhasa also introduced that Kampuchea's garments were mainly exported to the United States, Europe and Canada.

Lhasa expects that with the gradual warming of the global economy and the EU's revision of the relevant laws, Kampuchea's garment export environment will be more favorable. Clothing export is one of the important pillars of Kampuchea's economic growth, creating about 300000 employment opportunities.
Statistics from Sao an, chairman of the Kampuchea Federation of trade unions, show that at present, there are about 470 clothing and shoe factories in Kampuchea.
In 2010, 51 factories were closed, and 4 were shut down, but 91 new plants started.
In 2009, 90 factories closed in Cambodia, 55 were shut down and 47 new factories started.
