    Li Chao disclosed that the company is preparing to go public and may soon acquire a hosiery enterprise in the US.


    From the 90s last century, a small company selling socks, Mona Hosiery Industry has now developed into China's top ten hosiery enterprises, is the world's brand CK, Puma and the United States largest hosiery enterprise goldtoe and supermarket chain WAL-MART's important supplier.


    Located in the eastern part of Zhejiang Province, Yiwu is currently the largest small commodity distributing center in the world.

    In the early 80s of last century, Yiwu took the lead in relaxing the registration of self-employed businesses, allowing farmers to engage in business and opening the urban and rural markets.

    The local farmers have joined the business team, bought machines, and set up processing plants, forming a family management mode of "front shop, post factory" and industry and commerce.


    Now, people who do small businesses in China know that they can find the most complete and cheapest commodities in Yiwu.

    Zippers, socks, accessories, toys and other products produced in Yiwu sell well both at home and abroad.


    The experience of Mona hosiery represents the great changes that are taking place in China's small commodities: more and more "made in Yiwu" begin to throw off the name of "inferior products", and a group of enterprises with technological content and efforts to create their own brands are growing rapidly.


    "Mona's production technology has actually been recognized by the famous international hosiery enterprises, but we are still selling OEM products in the European and American markets.

    We hope that one day, "Mona" brand will be more familiar to foreigners, "Li Chao said.


    In Europe, Mona began to try to sell his own brand of socks.

    The American branch of Mona is located in the bustling area of Broadway in New York.


    "When we were in the US in 2006, we considered: are we going to open the company to the North American base of the textile industry in the United States or in the prosperous New York?" finally, we decided to stay in the fashion center New York because we want to create a brand and develop a high-end market.

    Yiwu's local population is about 700000, including nearly twenty thousand foreign businessmen, and Jordan's 23 year old tall Lin is one of them.

    Like many Arabia businessmen, Gao Lin runs a foreign trade company in Yiwu, which purchases various kinds of small commodities for customers in the Middle East.


    Less than a week is the traditional Chinese New Year. Gao Lin is busy collecting accounts from clients in the Middle East and clearing the harvest for a year.


    "The accounts receivable went smoothly this year. Finally, we could return to Jordan and visit relatives and friends with our wife and children during the Spring Festival holiday.

    Last year, due to the financial crisis, many customers could not pay their bills on time. I didn't even have enough money to get home for the new year.

    Gao Lin told reporters about his plan for the Spring Festival with fluent Chinese.


    Gao Lin, who has lived in Yiwu for four years, speaks with strong Jiang and Zhejiang accents. He says he is often mistaken for locals on the phone.

    He married a Yiwu wife last year. Their children are now almost three months old.


    "I'm sure that after I return to Jordan, I can see Yiwu's small commodities exported by our company on the street."

    Gao Lin said.


    In the small commodities, bracelets and ladies' bags are the most popular in the Middle East.

    "In some conservative Arabia countries, such as Oman and Saudi Arabia, women wear black robes all year long to wrap themselves up.

    The only ornaments that they can show outside are bracelets and bags. Yiwu's cheap and fine, many kinds of bracelets and bags satisfy their pursuit of beauty and fashion.


    "If you produce these small commodities locally in the Middle East, things are more than 3 times more expensive. Chinese goods make many Arabs live richer and richer."

    Gao Lin said that almost every household in the Middle East has several "made in China".


    According to the statistics of Yiwu Municipal Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation Bureau, Yiwu's total export volume reached 2 billion 860 million US dollars in 2010. This figure increased by 34% compared to 2009, and Yiwu's exports to the US amounted to US $496 million, up 41.07% over the same period last year.

    The United States ranks first in Yiwu's exports, while the United Arab Emirates and Germany ranked second and third respectively.


    In terms of the categories of export commodities in Yiwu in 2010, foreign trade in bags, zippers, beauty salons, tableware, seamless underwear and other industries was better, and export growth was obvious.


    In 2010, the RMB appreciated by more than 3%. In addition, labor costs and raw material prices of cotton and other raw materials increased substantially, raising the cost of production and squeezing export profits to varying degrees.

    Enterprises in Yiwu, especially the textile and garment industry, have been affected.


    Korean businessman Pu Sheng law has been exporting Yiwu's scarves and belts for eight years. Its products are mainly sold to clothing stores in the United States and Europe.


    Pu Shenglv told reporters: "in the past few years, my scarf was absolutely competitive in the European and American markets, but cotton prices rose last year, and the appreciation of the renminbi gradually reduced our price advantage.

    The price of the scarves produced in India is still flat with our products, which has put a lot of pressure on me.


    Although the export trade in China is becoming more and more difficult, park will continue to stay in Yiwu, he said.


    "Yiwu has already formed a very perfect small commodity market. The experience and scale of Yiwu market is difficult for other countries to surpass in the short term. Therefore, although the prices of Yiwu commodities may be higher and higher, the sales in the international market will still be good."

    When he said this, Pu Sheng's face was full of confidence.


    Pu Shenglv said that the company has fashion designers from Korea, and will make more articles and enhance competitiveness in product innovation and design.
