With the continuous improvement of living standards, people's demand for bedding is getting higher and higher.

With 50% or more silk as filler, it has the excellent properties of absorbing excessive ultraviolet rays, enhancing sleep, absorbing moisture and keeping warm. It has special functions to prevent mite and mold from breeding. It is especially good for allergic and rheumatic patients, and the sales volume increases year by year.

Because the price of silk is more expensive, some illegal manufacturers are fighting for the idea of being quilted.

In the process of routine supervision and inspection, we find that the problem of silk quilt is focused on the following aspects: the identification is not standard, the concept is vague, the filling is inferior, and the authenticity is false.

In view of this situation, we summarized some methods of site identification based on work experience.

1 mark is not qualified

According to the standard requirements, the product labels of silk quilts must be correctly marked with the name and address of the manufacturer, product name, product size and specification, ingredients and contents of raw materials, washing and maintenance methods, product standard number, product quality grade, and product.

There are two problems in the identification of unqualified silk quilts:

1) labeling is not marked according to the standard requirements.

Items missing and durable labels are inconsistent with labels on labels on products.

For example, the label of durability label is: "mulberry silk 50%, viscose 50%", while the outer packaging label is "100% mulberry silk".

Consumers often can only see the logo of the outer package, so they are deceived.

2) use fuzzy concept and do not specify the type and length of silk.

If properly labeled, it should be "50% mulberry silk (medium length silk) and 50% tussah silk (medium length silk)" silk quilt, only labeled as silk 100%. In fact, the price of mulberry silk is higher than that of tussah silk, and consumers can not really understand the quality of products through labels.

In addition, for the production of the quilt, the longer the length of the silk is, the better. If the whole quilt is drawn from the filament, it is not easy to have displacement and deformation. If the tire is made of medium length silk or short silk, the fiber will easily be shifted and twisted into clusters, so that quilting technology must be applied when the work is done, while quilted silk is pulled and squeezed by needles, and the air is less and the fluffiness is less, and the warmth retention property is relatively poor.

2 filling is shoddy.

Most consumers use eye, hand touch, burning residue and smell to judge the quality of the products. Some of them are prefabricated with mulberry silk with all or part of tussah silk, while the burning properties of mulberry silk and tussah silk are the same. Ordinary consumers can not distinguish the quality of products through these methods, even if professional technicians need to use microscope to determine accurately.

Some traders sold polyester as silk, and printed "silk quilt" or "pure silk quilt" logo on the packaging, attracting consumers at a low price of one yuan or two hundred yuan. These vendors often appeared in the morning market, night market, non-standard exhibition, and some appeared outside the large regular exhibition hall to sell these counterfeit goods in the name of the exhibition samples.

This kind of counterfeit is easy to identify, consumers only need a little bit of vigilance, open a small amount of silk floss out of the tyre and use the fire to burn it, you will find that polyester burns black smoke, the residue sticks hard lump, and the twist is not broken.

However, viscose fiber and tussah silk (mulberry silk) after mixing together have these characteristics, therefore, such blended products are easy to consumers.

3 field identification method

In view of this situation, we have studied specially, and concluded the method of judging the quilt of viscose and tussah silk (mulberry silk) in the field without instruments and chemical detection methods.

Because of the different properties of viscose and silk, it is very difficult for production enterprises to mix evenly.

Take a sample as an example, open the tire cover and carefully observe the quilt, and you can see that there are many white silk and brighter silk on the tire (pictured 1). The silk floss with different whiteness and luster can be separated by a single thread. It can be found on the fingers side by side. After careful observation, it will be found that there are obvious differences between the two silk floss (Figure 2): a wisp of silk cotton is more straight and arranged on the right side, the color is white, and the aurora is strong; while the left side of one strand does not have the straight side of the right side, the whiteness is poor, and the luster is softer.

Then the two strand of silk floss were burned separately, and the result is shown in Table 1.

The burning ash map is shown in figures 3 and 4.

Fig. 3 shows the characteristics of silk before burning, after burning and residue on the left side of silk floss. The figure 4 is the state of the tow before burning, after burning and residue on the right side, which accords with the characteristics of viscose.

The combustion characteristics of the above two strand tow can be judged to be two kinds of fibers, namely silk and regenerated cellulose fiber, rather than pure silk fiber.

The varieties of silk and regenerated cellulose fibers can be further tested by sampling and testing.

According to the previous test results, the majority of adulterated fibers were tussah silk and viscose.

In addition, there are often "lumps" in the open tyres, as shown in Figure 5.

Lumps are short fibers intertwined, burning tests will have hair burning flavor, residues are loose and brittle black particles, which can basically be judged as short staple fibers.

In order to better play the supervisory function and protect the legitimate rights and interests of consumers in a timely and effective way, we must have a high level of professional skills, and constantly accumulate and sum up experience. In particular, we must have a certain ability of on-site judgement, so that we can take timely measures to stabilize, accurately and ruthlessly attack illegal behaviors that deceive consumers.
