The company announced that around 11:40 March 29th, Antai group electric power company had a carbon monoxide poisoning accident in 9# boiler of 25MW power plant.

The expert further explained that as Antai group has been involved in the steel industry and power generation, it is possible that the blast furnace gas produced by steelmaking will be introduced into the boiler to realize the reuse of resources so as to generate electricity.

During the shutdown and maintenance of the boiler, the steelmaking equipment that was connected with it should still operate normally.

If the valve fails to produce a tight seal at this point, it will pose a threat to the personnel working inside or near the boiler.

"No matter what causes the incident, it constitutes a major production safety accident. Some people should be held responsible for the defects in the control of safety inspection," the expert said.

Who will pay for major production safety accidents?
