South Africa SACTWU Reopens Garment Factories Closed By KZN Province
South African labor union, South African Federation of trade unions (COSATU)

Textile workers union
(SACTWU) it has reopened a garment factory closed in April last year, which is located in the Hammersdale area of KZN province.
By the end of this week, the newly opened factory has recruited 100 permanent workers, of whom 90% are former workers who shut down the factory.
The newly opened factories will abide by the labour legislation, including the payment of wages and benefits stipulated by the law in the clothing industry, such as

Poverty and unemployment are everywhere in the Hammersdale area, and unions hope to redevelop factories to change the local situation.
The initial business plan is to increase 200 jobs in the next two years, and thereafter stabilize the work to 300, or at least directly feed 1800 families.
Because of recent initiatives and other investment projects, SACTWU now maintains 35000 direct or indirect decent jobs in South Africa.
