Clothing department students' works won the silver award of "JEANSWEST Cup"

On the evening of September 20, 2006, the seventeenth China JEANSWEST cup casual wear design competition (Eastern competition) was held at the Hangzhou theatre.

The clockwork of Chen Hui and Lin Yu of the clothing department of our college won the silver medal in the eastern conference area. They will have the honor to participate in the "seventeenth JEANSWEST cup casual wear design competition finals" held in Beijing in November.

This competition has received 1837 works from Shanghai, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Shandong, Anhui, Jiangxi, Fujian and other provinces (cities).

After careful and strict screening by the Organizing Committee of the competition, a total of 20 entries were finalists, and one of the gold, silver and bronze Awards was awarded from the competition, with two outstanding prizes.

In addition, our academy has also won the "Academic Promotion Award" specially issued by the Organizing Committee of the competition.

This competition has fully demonstrated the strength of our Institute of fashion design, and has also strengthened academic exchanges between our Institute of fashion design and other institutions.

In May 24th, a student from Tsinghua University took the JEANSWEST building nameplate on the outer wall of Tsinghua University's fourth teaching building with a cell phone.

In May 23rd, the Chinese and English signs of JEANSWEST building were hung on the external walls of the fourth teaching building of Tsinghua University. Another nameplate was hung on the wall to introduce the JEANSWEST brand.

The school's action sparked controversy among students and netizens.

Tsinghua University says naming campus buildings is a common practice for schools to raise funds at home and abroad.

Some Tsinghua students feel it is normal to donate money to build a building, but naming the teaching building with clothing brand is against the academic atmosphere in the school.
