The cost advantage of integrated cotton picking and the annual increase in planting acreage, the Xinjiang Corps plans to introduce 400 thousand flower workers this year, this figure is 100 thousand fewer than last year, we can see that the demand for flower workers is greatly reduced.

Xinjiang Corps is the most important commercial cotton production base and one of the high quality cotton producing areas in China. The annual output of cotton accounts for 1/6 of the whole country. Since 1995, the cotton production per unit area, cotton per capita, commodity rate and export rate of Xinjiang corps have always been the first in the country.

During the "11th Five-Year" period, a total of 3 million 127 thousand flower pickers were introduced, with an average of about 500000 people every year. In the meantime, the Xinjiang Corps increased the popularity of machine picked cotton in recent years, in order to cope with the shortage of pickers and overspend.

At present, there are more than 700 large cotton pickers, becoming the largest mechanized cotton picking base in China.

In order to change the chaotic situation of the spontaneous and disorderly flow of the previous flower workers, the Xinjiang Corps went to other provinces to recruit flower workers in 2003, strengthened labor cooperation with other provinces, and imported cotton pickers in an orderly way.

Last year, the Xinjiang Corps strengthened the introduction of pickers in and out of Xinjiang, and 475 thousand and 800 people actually got in place. The total harvest of seed cotton was nearly 3 million tons, and the cost of collecting flowers was 2 billion 219 million yuan.

The average cost of picking flowers is 1 yuan to 2.5 yuan per kilogram, and the income of flower picking workers is 4664 yuan, an increase of 1/3 over the average of 2793 yuan in 2009.
