Mexico Will Launch Anti-Dumping Administrative Review On China'S Textile, Clothing And Footwear Products.

The Ministry of economic affairs of Mexico began to carry out anti-dumping administrative review on Chinese products subject to anti-dumping duties.

In 2001, the agreement reached between China and Mexico on China's accession to the WTO reached an agreement that the anti-dumping duty would be imposed on over 1000 commodities imported from China within the six year pition period.

The pition period of six years is coming to an end this December.

Hugo Perezcano D AZ, director general of the general practice of international trade practices of the Ministry of economic affairs of Mexico, said that the Ministry of economic affairs of Mexico has informed the domestic manufacturers, importers and the Chinese government of the launch and upcoming anti-dumping administrative review, and will analyze the materials submitted by the parties to confirm whether they will maintain anti-dumping duties on these commodities.

The Ministry of economic affairs of Mexico has launched an investigation into nine categories of products, including locks, footwear, candles, pencils, lighters and tools.

He said that before the end of the pition period in December 11th this year, anti-dumping administrative review will be carried out on products in the 2001 agreement, including textiles, clothing, footwear and toys.

The process of anti-dumping review may last for about a year.

The cancellation or maintenance of the current anti-dumping duty depends on the outcome of the review, and the outcome of the review depends mainly on the materials and evidence provided by Mexico producers, importers and Chinese exporters.

The current anti-dumping duty will continue to be maintained if dumping or improper trade practices that are harmful to Mexico's national economy are identified.

He also said that there were 21 major categories of goods that were collected for anti-dumping duties in the 2001 agreement. During the six year overdue period, anti-dumping duties were abolished in 4 categories of products after anti-dumping investigations.

The biggest concern of Mexico's domestic producers is that Chinese products enter the Mexico market at super low prices, which is actually unfair competition.

Among them, the most prominent products include metals, chemicals, textiles and clothing, agricultural products, bicycles, padlocks, pram cars, other locks, lighters, toys, metal products and electronic products.

The Ministry of economic affairs of Mexico has also made corresponding representations that producers have the right to ask the Ministry of economic affairs of Mexico to make anti-dumping investigations on products imported from China. As long as they can provide detailed information, the Ministry of economic affairs of Mexico will investigate the products according to law and decide whether to levy anti-dumping duties.

At present, the highest anti-dumping duties on Chinese products are textiles and clothing, and their anti-dumping duties are as high as 800% and 500% respectively, causing some products to enter the Mexico market by smuggling or pferring to third countries.
