Japan And The United States Become The Main Export Markets For Footwear Products In Jiangyin
According to statistics of Jiangyin inspection and Quarantine Bureau, from 2007 to September, Jiangyin exported 647 footwear products and 4 million 839 thousand and 400 pairs of shoes, with a value of $17 million 162 thousand and 200.
Among them, the United States exported 172 batches, 2 million 670 thousand and 900 pairs, and 6 million 717 thousand and 600 US dollars; exported to Japan 440 batches, 1 million 975 thousand and 200 pairs and 10 million 31 thousand and 400 US dollars, and exported 95% batches to Japan and the United States.
The main export products include 304 batches of plastic shoes, 1 million 97 thousand and 500 pairs, and 7 million 583 thousand and 900 dollars; cloth shoes 168 batches, 3 million 109 thousand and 300 pairs, 4 million 240 thousand and 800 US dollars; leather shoes 136 batches, 302 thousand and 500 pairs, 4 million 188 thousand and 200 dollars, and a small number of rubber shoes and sports shoes.
In recent years, the export of footwear products in China is facing great challenges.
Before the EU anti-dumping, the export tax rebate in China was lowered, and the appreciation of RMB and the increase of production cost all restricted the export of footwear products.
Leather shoes are the most affected. The EU anti-dumping policy not only strengthens tariff barriers on imported shoes and shoe materials, but also provides compulsory measures for importing leather shoes from China, India and Thailand, with a minimum import price of not less than 5.7 euros. Jiangyin shoemakers are forced to abandon the EU market in order to avoid the risk of exporting products to Europe, resulting in the export of Jiangyin leather shoes to EU exports rapidly shrinking. This year, only 1 batches of products exported to Belgium.
At present, compared with the EU's strict policy restrictions, the market environment of Japan and the United States is relatively loose, which has become the focus of Jiangyin shoe enterprises' efforts to develop.
At the same time, with the use of new materials for shoemaking, plastic shoes and cloth shoes are becoming more and more rich, and gradually become an important choice for Japanese and American consumers. The demand is constantly increasing, which has replaced leather shoes as the most important type of export shoes.
