    LVMH group plans to relocate its Kenzo brand, add more modern vitality to it, appoint Humberto Leon and Carol Lim as brand new creative director.

    Humberto Leon and Carol Lim were originally creative behind the scenes of Opening Ceremony. They will unveil their 2012 spring summer series for Kenzo brand in September.


    The official announcement of the appointment is expected to be announced today. Humberto Leon and Carol Lim have taken over the position of Antonio Marras, who has been the chief designer of the Kenzo brand since 2004. The last design of Antonio Marras is the men's wear series on the men's wear show held in Italy last month.


     


    Pierre-Yves Roussel, fashion director of LVMH group, said: "it is very beneficial to introduce young modern designers for Kenzo brand. They have a deep understanding of the origin of Jungle brand Kenzo brand."

    Roussel refers to the Kenzo Takada landmark Jungle Jap Boutique boutique, launched in Paris in 70s, and is popular with color, graphics and exotic customs.


    Hunberto Leon and Carol are only 36 years old in Lim. They were born in California.

    Although they were not yet born when Takada founded the Kenzo brand, two people said that the influence of Kenzo brand was beyond the age limit.

    Humberto Leon said, "every time I see the classic design of Kenzo, I will be very excited."

    Carol Lim commends Kenzo brand for its vitality and team spirit. Its unique design concept is liked by many consumers.


    Humberto Leon and Carol Lim will continue to lead the Opening Ceremony brand created by two people in 2002.

    Opening Ceremony is mainly selling international fashion designer clothing as its business philosophy, and has launched a series of brand new cooperation such as Levi, s, Rodarte and Maison Martin Margiela.

    Opening Ceremony has two stores in New York, one in Losangeles and one in Japan, and has launched its own online store. In Beijing and Hongkong, there are also counters in Lane Crawford.


    Humberto Leon and Carol Lim will inject new product design into the Kenzo brand and change the display environment of the shop.

    Sales of Kenzo brand reached US $1 billion, although sales declined in the traditional market of brands, but sales in emerging markets such as Russia and China have increased greatly. Brands have opened 12 and 15 boutiques in Russia and China respectively.


    LVMH group bought Kenzo brand for 80500000 US dollars in 1993. Roussel said Kenzo brand's future development plan is to increase sales in these new markets in China and re-enter the US market.

    Kenzo withdrew from the US market in 2003.

    Roussel also said he interviewed many designers, and Humberto Leon and Carol Lim deeply attracted him from the 360 degree perspective of fashion.


    Kenzo has more than 100 boutiques in the world, 11 of which are direct outlets, and more than 600 wholesale customers in Europe.

    At present, the proportion of men and women in the brand is equally divided. Kenzo also has children's clothing, furniture and glasses.


    Humberto Leon and Carol Lim jointly studied at Berkeley college. After graduation, two people moved to New York, Leon worked in Gap and Burberry brands, and Lim had financial experience, and worked as a marketing partner for Bally brands.

    After 8 years of cooperation, KENZO and Antonio Marras decided to end their cooperation.
